New "Arkham" video game confirmed

We have had our first confirmation that another video game in the Arkham Asylum - Arkham City series is on the way...and it's coming this year.

Time Warner's CFO John K. Martin was discussing the last quarter financial results of 2012 and was looking towards 2013 when he commented:

"And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise."

What exact form this game will take is as of yet unknown - previous rumours suggested it would be a prequel inspired by Silver Age comics. The identity of the game developer is also uncertain - as Rocksteady (the company behind the previous two games) has already stated that it's next game will not be Batman related.

As for the name...well back in January WB registered a whole heap of Arkham related titles...
