About this image:
Behind the miniature, which extended nearly into the rafters of the stage, was a giant sky backing. The motion control camera - build specifically for Batman - was lowered into the set from an overhead rail system positioned directly over the street. Most of the plates required a primary pass for the buildings and a secondary pass to enhance the practical lighting.
