they had time. its just frustrating. i feel like we're wasting our time. :(

Anyway, great work Catwoman, although I'm annoyed you led me on with some of the promises you made regarding the fanfic.  Maybe next time, huh?
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

i never promised a f***ing thing.

Let's all take a breather and do away with all of this pesky hostility.  :)

Anyways ........

Another good chapter. I enjoyed the flashback scene with Max (four, five ... still alive!), and the revelation of what transpired with Selina immediately following her disappearance from the 'kiss of death' scene in Batman Returns. Good writing.

I also dug how the Catwoman costume itself had held up thru the years. It's little stuff like that, that makes the story itself seem more real. As if this was actually taking place, details such as that would obviously be noticed and inspected by the character in question.

Nice build up. Nice pay off.

Another excellent installment.
"Excuse me. You ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?"

chapter 17

in the frigid pre-dawn of just another day in gotham city, fuzzy freeman entered his studio from which the fuzzy morning show was broadcast. "god damn, somebody turn on the heat!" he shouted, announcing his entrance. "i'm freezing my balls off!"

a long-legged blonde who worked for the radio station which broadcast the show, though fuzzy considered her an employee of himself and himself alone, stepped out of her office towards the thermostat. "sorry, i'm the only one here right now," she said, turning up the heat. "welllll now, kelly, how are you doing today?" "i'm, um, i'm cold," she replied, turning to quickly back towards her office. fuzzy grabbed her by her arm and jerked her towards him, causing her glasses to slide off her face to the floor. "i'll warm you up," he said, leaning towards her. freeman's rotund frame, his long blonde hair, and his fu-manchu mustache made him quite unattractive, and the scent of beer and marijuana on his breath did little to appetize kelly. she tried to pull away as freeman pulled her closer.

"let go of me you son of a-!"

the door to the studio few open, slamming against the wall and startling them both. "who the hell?! who are you?" freeman demanded, letting loose on his grip on kelly and focusing on the shadowy figure in the door. kelly flipped a light switch to reveal...red claw!

"oh sh*t!" fuzzy exclaimed. "what do you want?" he said, backing away. kelly rushed towards her office. the russian terrorist drew out her pistol and fired several shots at kelly, though none seemed to strike her before she was able to get the door shut. red claw turned towards fuzzy. "we don't have much time," she said, her thick accent making it difficult for him to understand. "turn on your microphone. i have a message for gotham city."

nervously, fuzzy sat down at his table and flipped his microphone on. he looked up at red claw. "you know, i'm just a radio host. i have no power. you don't want to hurt me. i'm nobod-" red claw aimed her pistol at his crotch and fired. "OH! YOU FU...OH! YOU BITCH!" he howled as he leaned back in his chair, holding himself. she put the gun to his head and picked the microphone up from the table.

"is it on?" she asked him. through his pain, fuzzy managed to nod. "good." she held it up towards her mouth. "citizens of gotham city. this is red claw. as you may know, my men and i have already taken care of those whom you declared your 'prince and his princess.' soon, the rest of gotham's rich and famous will feel my wrath and their greed that has epitomized this country's pig society will haunt them in their painful last moments. one by one, piece by piece you will be taken apart by my men and i. there is no escape. we know your names. we will find you."

she then handed the microphone to fuzzy, drew out a sub-machine gun, and riddled him with bullets, his horrible scream broadcast through the airwaves across gotham city.

once red claw had left, kelly opened the door to see her boss's bloody body slumped in his chair. she screamed and slammed the door shut once more.

"somehow," commisioner gordon said, looking over the bloodsoaked chair after freeman's body had been removed later that morning, "i don't feel a whole hell of a lot of grief for him." indeed, fuzzy freeman had been a vocal critic of gordon's, often getting quite personal and nasty when discussing him. the pot shots he had taken at the commisioner's family made his uncharacteristically cool remark understandable.

he turned to batman, who stood nearby, against the wall. "now what?" he asked. "i'm not sure," batman replied. "your men need to spread out across the city. we need the national guard as well." "i'll get on it," gordon said, turning to leave. "jim," batman said, using the commisioner's first name. gordon turned to him, surprised.

"just in case..." batman did not continue. gordon nodded in acknowledgement, and the two men went their seperate ways.

Very good.  That Fuzzy Freeman a-hole cracked me up.  It's a pity that you dispose of these characters so early though.  I would have liked to hear more of what a jerk he was before he got knocked off.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

its nearing the end.

and even after all that time, nothing's changed. you're still the only one who gives a damn :'(

WOW! :o

Hell, I pretty much gave up on this ever getting another chapter, but lo and behold, it's baaaack!  ;D

Anyways, another good chapter. Cheers.
