If Penguin Lived

Alright, imagine the Penguin did not die from the toxic waste poisoning.

In some fluke of luck, he walks out perfectly fine.

What would happen to him?

Would the unmasked Batman fight and kill him ? or send him to jail like he claimed Max would?

Remember, The Penguin may have recognised Bruce Wayne.

Thoughts?

i would have been pissed, first off.

second off the heat from selina blowing everything to hell would have still killed him pretty fast.

I'm not so sure.

I'm interested in the ramifications if he lived. The public reaction, how Batman would have dealt with him, etc.

I wonder what Batman's intent was whilst cruising to his hideout in the Batskiboat?

I don't know out of all the Batman Villian death's i think his was the most needed for the story to work. I would have liked to have seen The Joker return more.

I would have liked to have seen the Penguin placed in stocks in the middle of Gotham Plaza and pelted with vegetables, before being sent to solitary confinement in a padded, barred cell in the style of his childhood cot for the rest of his pathetic, miserable life.

He should have been made to suffer for all the destruction he ravaged throughout Gotham, including the Ice Princess's death.   >:(
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

Good reply. Because the Burton-verse didn't have Arkham, I could see something like that happening.

Wasn't it internal injuries caused by the fall that killed him?

No. It wasn't the fall that killed him. That would have hurt, But:

It was Max's toxic pool of waste that rotted his insides and killed him. Every breath he took sounded like his lungs and throat had been burnt and torn to pieces. The black goo leaking from his mouth, etc. Notice The Penguin chokes, then falls to the ground -  finally succumbing to the poisoning.

Yes, that was the impression I got Dark Knight.  On the other hand, how did Max Shreck manage to survive swimming in the waste, before he was eventually killed by Selina?  Not to mention the penguins themselves?   :)

Maybe, it was a combination of the fall and the toxic waste.

Good point. Maybe where the Penguin fell there was a bigger build-up of the stuff. But I do think the toxic waste contributed in some fashion.
