Bob the Goon

Honestly, this is one of the most underrated roles ever, played by a great actor Tracey Walter. Think of how many cliched and unimportant "right hand man to the crime boss" roles have been played over the course of movie history, even just take the last 20 or 30 years into account. Bob truly trumps them all. Half the time in films you don't even give a lying poop about those characters, and they are just kind of 'around'. Bob was pretty much the truest incarnation of the bad guy's right hand man. He looked dirty, acted dirty, played dirty, did what he was told without a moments notice, and had a true and visual sense of service and loyalty to the Joker.

After watching Nostalgia Critic's review, I now see more clearly that Bob may have just been that X factor that made the film that much better. Of course it helps when you are working with talent like Jack Nicholson in the brunt of your scenes. None the less, Bob was just that good, and I now realize that he didn't just get that action figure for nothing! In the name of characters like Bob, I say the Academy needs to create a new award titled The Best Supporting-supporting actor/actress. WHOSE WITH ME!!!!!!!!

He certainly was loyal and un-questioning to his boss, right until his death.

"Bob...gun". BANG!

One has to wonder what he would think or do if he somehow survived that.

He was so convincing in his role that I wouldn't be surprised if he just went back and kept on serving the Joker.

Bob has magical powers to cheat death. Didn't you know this? :)

Personally, I suspected it....seriously.

i would hope he survived, i liked him.

I'm not so sure. Joker's act would completely break your trust and confidence in the man. But, I'm sure Bob is dead.

Dead as the dodo, but he was by far the most likable of all the goons.

As a kid playing the NES Batman game (which is a superb game, BTW), I always felt that Bob should have been acknowledged as a Boss in one of the levels of the game.

With each level, you have Gotham City streets (with Killer Moth as the final boss), AXIS Chemical Factory (with Machine Intelligence System as boss), Underground Conduit (with Electrocutioner as boss), the Laboratory Ruins (the Dual-Container Alarm as boss) and finally Gotham's Cathedral (with Firebug as boss) where Batman finally confronts the Joker. But sadly, no Joker parade level with Bob the Goon as boss (which would have been sweet in my estimation).

I loved Bob, although he vies with Laurence for my most liked goon.  They were both incredibly loyal to the end (actually, all the goons were pretty loyal although Bob was a bit of a pussy).
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

Unlike his action figure, which was badass, and had that sweet "Power Kick"!
