ral, is it possible for you to interview Michael Gough?

Ok, this is a cheeky list of the people who I think would make great interview subjects from the Burton films (avoiding lead actors and big behind-the scenes names).

Batman

Tracy Walter (although I don't know if he's still too high-profile)

Kit Hollerbach (Becky, the news anchorwoman who literally laughed to death - that was a great performance for such a small role, and her character's behaviour scared the c**p out of me when I was a kid)

David Baxt and Sharom Holm (Mr and Mrs Wayne)

Clive Curtis (my personal favourite - the big dude who beats the hell out of Batman in the belltower and was also a stuntman on the film)

Marion Dougherty   (casting director for both films - I could ask her a tonne of questions)

Batman Returns

Cristi Conaway (for the reasons given by Dark Knight Detective and Catwoman - I'd also ask her what it was liked to be whipped by Michelle Pfeiffer  ;))

Steve Witting and Jan Hooks (the guy who got bitten in the nose by the Penguin, and the lady whose void the Penguin wanted to fill   :P)

Anne Katarina (the Poodle Lady)

Bob Ringwood and Mary Vogt (admittedly they were interviewed for the dvd but it'd still be cool to hear some more from them)

Wesley Strick (the uncredited co-writer on this film - I'd like to hear more from Daniel Waters as well)

Anyway, if somebody can get hold of any of these guys that would sure be cool!

Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

Probably not. To be honest I don't have any connections to get those sorts of interviews  :-\

Over the past few month I have been pursuing Kit Hollerbach and Clive Curtis.  I am yet to hear anything.

I was contacted by Clive Curtis (Goon who gives Batman a beating in the belltower).

I informed him that in a recent poll, his fight was considered the best in the Batman films. He was quite pleased to hear that, but declined for an interview.

"Thank you for your kind words, it is appreciated.

The Batman fight happened such a long time ago, I?m afraid I cannot accurately recall the sequence of events, and would not wish to mislead you."

Disappointing, but you can't ask for fairer than that.

My quest for Kit Hollerbach came to a dead end.  :(

Thanks for trying Ral.  You can't ask for anymore.

With all due respect to the individuals in question, I can't understand why some actors have an issue speaking about their previous work.  Fair enough, it's their decision to decline an interview and they are entitled to do so, but I simply can't see what the problem is.  It's not as if it's a personal invasion of their privacy, just simply a few questions about something that is already in the public domain, i.e. their work.  It might even give them the chance to speak about what they are now doing and promote their current projects (acting-related or otherwise) if they so wish.

Oh well.  Anyway, once again thanks for trying Ral.  I appreciate the effort and it will be great to read the Christopher Fairbank interview, especially since he had such a memorable (albeit small) role and is a relatively well known actor in the UK.

I'm trying to get a little more elaboration on a couple of points from Chris Fairbank at the moment so I want to wait for that.

While I would have liked to hear from Clive, his explanation is sincere and makes a lot of sense.

You are right Dark Knight, and I have immense respect for Clive Curtis.  Like you state, he gives a genuine and understandable rationale for not wishing to be interviewed.

However, I still think it's possible for various actors/crew members to comment on their feelings and opinions regarding films that were made 17 to 20 years ago.
