I,ve been wanting Tim Burton to do Alice for years. Next year is a dream come true.
Why is there always someone who bring eggs and tomatoes to a speech?

Interesting.  I had a somewhat the same experience.  Late in 2000, I was watching the original planet of the apes with my mom.  She had been a fan of the films since she was very young.  I had told her that it would be cool, if Fox would release a remake.  She asked me, 'who do I think would make a good director?'  Of course I answered, Tim Burton.  She then asked me, 'who should do the music?' I answered Danny Elfman.  She continued, and asked me who would be good to play in the film.  I said, 'Michael Clarke Duncan would be perfect for the Leader of the Gorillas.' I also added that Rick Baker should be the make up artist, and the apes should move more realistic and have armor for their uniforms.  I had no clue that there was a remake in the works.  About 2 months later around 2001, I came across a poster with an ape gorilla kneeling his head down the date on the poster said July 27, 2001 coming soon.  I still didn't know who was going to direct the picture all I new was that on July 27th, Planet of the Apes was coming to theatres.  I went to go see the film on the opening day and when I saw the poster for the showing. I read the following credits:  Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Rick Baker.  Talk about a dream come true.

What I find funny about some of Burton's films is how he casted some Star Wars actors to star in them (like Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid, etc.).

Don't forget William Hootkins.

Garrick Hagon played Biggs Darklighter in the first Star Wars (although most of his scenes were cut) and he played the tourist dad at the beginning of Batman 89.

And perhaps one of the earliest cases- James Earl Jones in Tim Burton's TV adaptation of Aladdin:

That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

i think i have photos of that somewhere

You know... Planet of the Apes is the only Tim Burton film that I remember thinking... this doesn't feel much like a Tim Burton film at all. And was never a big favorite of mine...even though I went out and bought the dvd anyways. ;)

But a lot of that also had to do with the inclusion of Mark Wahlberg who I just couldn't imagine ever being in a Tim Burton film to begin with.
Maybe if he used Johnny Depp? lol... Well I think that might of made the entire movie completely different.

It wasn't a bad film to say the least. Just not Tim Burtonish.  :)
