Cool article. I saw Prince in concert about 2 years ago & he was great! Actually, I was pretty impressed, he's very talented & a very good showman.

Some very good reviews, I read an article last week that lists Prince's Batman soundtrack as one of the best movie soundtracks of all time. No arguments here. They are quite fun to listen, and very memorable.

Has anybody ever seen him perform any of the songs in the movie live on stage? Be interesting to see/hear how he adapted them. I've only ever seen one photo of him in a purple suit, a clear nod to the Joker in one performance of one of the songs.

I might be wrong here but I think Prince's soundtrack started this slight trend of artists using dialogue from the movie in their soundtracks. Heard similar experiments in soundtracks to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (The Reaper Rap) and The Addams Family (MC Hammer).

The greatest offender however is Madonna's Dick Tracy attempt. That movie (despite my being a fan of it) stole from Batman in every concievable manner and the soundtrack was no exception. Listen to her album and hear the ripoff of Prince.
