I honestly think he doesn't like the project. McG (Charlie Angels) isn't really the first guy I'd want to do a Terminator movie. Bale as Conner is an excellent idea, but the the film we're getting is not looking too hot. Bale hasn't been known to blow up like this. I'm glad Terry Crews is backing him up.

"Anyone can have a bad day... I'd get mad too if I was the number one star in the world and people started to mess with me. He is a class act! He is one of the greatest actors ever. I'm vouching for him. I know he's a nice guy. I know he's all about his work."
Yeah, anybody CAN have a bad day.  I had a bad day today myself.  But am I getting on here calling Raleagh or BatmAngelus all kinds of names?  I'm all about my work too.  Today it was as if my boss was intent on sabotaging it.  Now I can freak out on everyone or I can say "hey, he's my boss, in some sense he pays for the privilege of being a jerkhole, it's part of the deal" and move on with life.  That's the world we all live in as mature, productive adults.  And it's a world Christian Bale clearly knows fu.ckall about.  And I don't care if he's got the entire Supreme Court and every surviving former-President of the US vouching for him.

You and others saw something that eluded me, man.  I figured he was basically a good guy.  I bought it, I admit.  During that nasty business this summer when his family came knocking, I figured they only represented so's they could shake him down during his moment of triumph.  I have family who'd pull something like on me so I could sorta relate.  I guess psych majors would call that "projection".  Anyway, I figured he tried to force 'em to leave his hotel room and ended up having to get physical in order to do it.  And somehow that turned into Bale "attacking" them.  I cut him a lot of slack on that.  A lot.

But no more.  Now?  I totally believe he could do something like that.  Normal, emotionally balanced people might get angry when their work is ruined like that (assuming his was... which seems to be in doubt) but they don't go F'ing nuclear like that.

As for his superior attitude, re: the Burton films, his Batman movies will NEVER be the pop culture phenom that Burton's were.  Moreover, they don't spark childrens' imaginations in anything CLOSE to how Burton did.  What you see with the Nolan films is what you get.  There's nothing left to tickle the imagination because it's all there in the dialogue.  When I was a kid, I saw that matte painting establishing Gotham City at the top of B89 and INSTANTLY bought into the crime noir vibe of crooked thieves and even crookeder cops on every street corner; a city where even the buildings and architecture themselves conspired to oppress the citizens of Gotham.  NOTHING Nolan and Bale have EVER done can compete with that single shot!  Get outta my F'ing face, ya know?

And c'mon y'all, you guys KNOW there's video of this.  The camera was obviously rolling at that moment.  It can only be a matter of time until we see footage of this whole nasty affair.  Bale may be able to weather the audio bits but if that video ever surfaces... he may be done.  Professionally.

Great post. I loved what you said about the dialogue & overall feeling of the Nolan films.

Everything in those films are pretty much pretentious, cliched, non-expressional, dry, non-sensical, & boring. I mean seriously, what is there to worship within these films? They're pretty much just popcorn flicks w/ a hype that dies down shortly after being released.

PERFECT!!! ;D

Yeah, I couldn't help but laugh at the part in Begins when Rachel Dawes took the young Bruce to the narrows. She actually had to explain that the city was a dark and rotting cesspool run buy corruption and crime.

No need to in the originals. One look at the first shot and you thank god you don't live there.

Better yet, why on Earth was Rachel even made? She added ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to Begins. And on top of that, Katie Holmes played her. Horrible character + horrible actress = WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING NOLAN!? :-X ::)

Yeah. Nolan's universe has the inappropriate style for a Batman film.  :P

At one point you can hear him going for someone and being held back.

Personally, I've never had a desire to meet / talk to Bale in person - in interviews he comes off as a little "off".  This audio confirms that for me.

I agree with Doc - a heroic character should be played by a genuinely respectable person.  Take Superman - Reeve may have taken the role a little serious at times and that may have rubbed some up the wrong way, but he never blew up like that (as far as I've read) and felt enormous responsiblilty towards the character.  I think of Routh the same way.  I don't think Bale could care less - even if a good script and director were to come along he probably wouldn't do another Batman without Nolan.

[edit - i forgot to add the remix!]

LMAO!!! ;D ;D ;D

 :D :D :D That'll go #1 on the Billboard worldwide LOL!

There's more spoofs on YouTube and Jimmy Kimmel recently had a guy dressed in a Bat costume to lipsync and make it look like he was yelling at Elmo.

I went into class tonight and one of my classmates was still playing the original audio for everyone off of his iPhone.  People were amused.
Edit: Discussion was launched on all the YouTube spoofs, including one in which two guys redo the whole scene, except it's "Bale" yelling at a crafts service man for not getting him the right donut.

We also had a guest speaker in the class (it's a film class), who talked a bit about directing and my teacher jokingly added "working with Christian Bale" to the list of potential problems to deal with.  I'm sure there will be more discussion in my classes tomorrow.

This has got to be embarrassing.  I'm surprised there hasn't been a statement from Bale himself or even his publicist.
That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

Wow, this thing's going bigger than I thought it would.

Good. :) That ought to bring some fanboys back down to earth reguarding Bale/the Nolan films.
"There's just as much room for the television series and the comic books as there is for my movie. Why wouldn't there be?" - Tim Burton

That music video is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I'm almost happy Bale did that now just so I could catch a hilarious piece of comedy like that.

QuoteAs for his superior attitude, re: the Burton films...

I don't want to start a fight, but has Bale ever slammed the Burton films? I've just never heard him do such a thing. I know he's said things to the effect of "Our film has nothing to do with the other films" but that's a statement of fact, not opinion. And even if he prefers his films to Burton's (which he obviously does), so what? He's entitled to his opinion and that's a reasonable one.

If he had been cast as Robin in Batman Forever (which he apparently tried out for) I bet he would've said that Batman Forever was the best Batman movie ever. That's just the way things are in Hollywood.

I remember when Hugh Jackman said he thought X-Men 3 was the best X-men movie yet. Well, I think that was a lie. Or at least I hope so. But it's not like he could've said, "I think X3 is good but not as good as the last one."  That's not a quote that would look good in Entertainment Weekly, now is it?

I always go after people who bash the Burton films but only if they say something disrespectful or factually inaccurate. Mere preference is fine with me.
