"The MOXIE of Batman flying to Hong Kong, busting Lao and dragging his ass back to the States.  People can say whatever they want about how illegal something like that would be, how US officials would probably just send him back to China, etc, I DON'T CARE, that scene OWNED.  Pure Batman!"

No doubt about it, man.

That scene did own. The whole thing. It's well structured and has good flow. It's probably the most enjoyable scene in any Batman film. The locations and cinematography are gorgeous as well.

I wouldn't go that far (that's just me), but I'll say that it's probably the best scene in the Nolan films, most likely because I love seeing Batman doing international traveling to find criminals, kick their asses & drag them back to Gotham City. Pure Batman. 8)

I would.

What's better than it then?

Agh, it would be too long to explain.

That's not an answer.

Go on, I'm listening.

Ah, the relentless type, I see.

Well, to give a brief post, there are a bunch of scenes from the Burton films that I find to be better than the Hong Kong scene, like the Cathedral battle, the RTC fights, & the list goes on.

It seems like I play the joker's advocate here, but this Hong Kong scene could also exist in a James Bond, Jason Bourne or any tough guy/international spy film. I agree that it's a great scene and one of my faves, but I always like it more when the story focuses on Batman in Gotham.

(I don't put dilemmas about whether it's ethical or unethical for Batman to do so - I REFUSED to associate any elements of TDK with the current situation of the real world and this so-called "War on Terror" - I refuse to associate Batman with CIA/NSA or whatever. To my mind, Batman works outside any definition of "the law", he simply functions inside a moral code he defined himself, and since he could pull off the kidnapping of a guy who has obviously dirty hands, why not?).

I love the scene where Batman fights Maroni's men in the night club. With that thumping loud music and dark lighting, nobody would have had a clue Batman was there.
