The Batwing

I once had a concept artwork poster of the Batwing from Burton's first Batman, and noticed that it looked more sleek than the final movie prop. Anyone notice that? I like them either way though.

I did notice that the wing surface on the craft was completely flat which kinda dampened my ideas of doing a radio-controlled larger version of it. I'm no aero-dynamics expert, but I'm familiar with the curved upper surface on most, if not all winged aircraft which gives them their lift.

If it doesn't work on my model (and I'll do rough tests first), I will have to add a little curve to the surface panel (but hopefully not to obvious) to achieve the lift required.

I plan to use a model kit of the Batwing as my main reference. Any pics of finshed models would be appreciated if you could post them here. Thanks.

I like the final version much much better than the design painting made originally.

Thanks! Very interesting, I've never seen most of those before.

Has anyone seen photos of the new 1:50 Scale Hot Wheels BATWING yet? It's suppose to come out in 2009, maybe January.

Here's a pic of the 1989 Batmobile Car they're gonna make:

Every hot wheels version is a little different the only one thats really exact is the 60's show batmobile.

Very cool. Can't wait to see some pictures from this, the 89 batwing is my favourite Batman plane. Ever. In any medium. It's got some good gear on it too. Two browning machine guns, missiles, front shears, multi-function binoculars and spotlights. In the making of B89 book, it notes it has lasers, but I'm not sure about that.
