I don't know about anyone else, but if I were accused of sexual harassment, I would never agree to settle and pay the person who is defaming me.

Extremely disappointing.

A settlement is not an admission of guilt. This allegation doesn't appear to have the weight of criminal charges behind it. What we know is that an allegation has been made and, apparently, Elfman decided the better part of valor was to settle.

Someone innocent could have made the exact same calculus.

Now, I'm with you. Satan will need a parka and a heating pad before I settle if I'm innocent.

But Elfman might have had a different kind of logic, esp since #MeToo started up not very long after the allegation was made. We don't know what did or didn't happen. But if Elfman did breach his agreement with Nomi Abadi, then he should probably rectify that situation before things get much worse.

A few months ago, Elfman denied the allegations.

For his sake, I hope he's telling the truth. But man, agreeing to pay a settlement doesn't look good on his part.

Don't have access to a link yet, but the original accuser has been outed as a fraudster and embezzler.
