Nothing really to note here besides Doug's devotion to this film as we all have shared for as long as this forum has been here. Something that I did not get at all was his complaint about a white flash when Batman kicks Eddie into the doorway. That's not a flash. That's the light coming from above. His crumbled body can be seen when Batman drags Nick after snagging him.

What strikes me is how balanced Batman (1989) really is as a Batman film, and that's not all nostalgia talking. It's mainstream while not shying away from mature themes. It touches upon the detective aspects of the character, his physical prowess and reputation among the criminal underbelly and general public. There's a number of gadgets and vehicles. Bruce Wayne is a recluse, but he's given a fair share of screen time to explore his psychology. Honestly, Batman films may be technically better made going forward, namely with Reeves and Fraser, but Burton's first remains lighting in a bottle. It has just about everything that makes the character great in a manageable runtime of two hours.
