I mean, there's influence and then there's INFLUENCE. For example, titles aside, Tom Cruise is the head of Paramount. If he wasn't before, he is now.

As for Hamada, he seems like he does best when he's surrounded by likeminded people. Considering how thin his list of allies has become, maybe he'll get onboard with the new regime? That would probably be his best bet.

My hunch is that Hamada doesn't necessarily have a target on his back. If he's willing to play ball, I bet he'll be allowed to stick around.

In the case of DC, it all depends on whether DC Films production president Walter Hamada stays on at Warner (which is a possibility, according to one insider) or leaves after a new leader is chosen for all of DC Entertainment (including publishing and TV).

However, a top executive at WBD made clear that Hamada would only be staying until his replacement is chosen, and until that time will report to De Luca and Abdy.

...

"If anything, they'll go back to individual movies unless [Emmerich's replacement Michael] De Luca has some plan," according to a DC insider. "They need to get a f—ing Superman movie off the ground, and if the plan is a shared universe, a [Henry] Cavill-led Superman needs to be the focal point."

The DC insider added that Zaslav's team "should scratch every Superman project in development and start fresh with Cavill."

As for Cavill, there had been rumours running around for a while that his Superman would confront Black Adam at some point. But is that really the best way to bring him back? The Rock appears to have ambitions to have Black Adam take centerstage of the DC hierarchy, does this mean Superman would play second fiddle? And is that really something to look forward to for Superman's return on the big screen? Whatever this David Zaslav has in mind, the WBD PR team has made it clear they want to bring Superman back to the public conscience because he had been left languishing for far too long.

Yeah, pretty much saw this, but TLF beat me to it.

If this is the case, then Mikey Sutton was correct in saying "Joker" (to which Hamada was lukewarm on), and "The Batman" wasn't going to save Hamada. As much as he probably wanted to believe otherwise.

Speaking of JOKER:

Interesting ....

And with the recent chatter about Zaslav wanting Cavill back as Superman pronto, in addition to scraping all other variant Superman projects, in particular the JJ Abrams Superman project that would effectively knock Coates right off his safe-to-assume preachy soapbox, Zaslav certainly appears to be a man after my own heart here lately.
"Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is."

I'm not a fan of Todd Phillips at all, but his movie made money, and to the execs at WBD, that's all that matters. Anyone would do a better job than Hamada, even if it's just an advisory role.

The trades say David Zaslav is frustrated with DC as under-utilised due to a lack of consistent output and "there hasn't been sufficient long-term planning in terms of rolling out sequels and follow-ups to popular movies". I don't want to post the source though because it tries to argue Cavill is too old to play Superman, which is ridiculous because Momoa and the Rock are older than Cavill but nobody is saying they're too old to play Aquaman and Black Adam. Not to mention Keaton playing Batman again.

Anyway, here is a video of Hollywood execs praising Snyder for his work on 300, in front of Emmerich, during a roundtable discussion hosted by THR from 2019.

We know Snyder still has the desire to finish his Superman/Justice League story arc, and this is yet another sign to tell fans to keep showing their support. He's not moving on just yet.

Second unit director Clay Staub continues to tease.

If ZSJL 2 and 3 does get greenlit, there's one thing for certain: Barry Allen and Mera have to be recast. I can't see Ezra Miller and Amber Heard ever coming back.

Might mean something. Might not mean anything. But a very curious like on VERO nonetheless.
