It seems BD-Live has been excluded from non-US releases on Blu-ray.

Fairly disappointing to say the least. I feel very cheated by the way WB have marketed this release (3-hours of bonus materials - funny I only remember 1 hour of actual insight into the movie).

Almost every UK website had been reporting that BD-Live was going to be on TDK's Blu-ray.

they are milking it as much as they can until they decide when to release the 3 disc and what theyre going to add to the special features.

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

True, though the film is killer. I'm pleased just to have that rather than resorting to youtube all the time.

For something like this, I only wanted the best presentation.  I, ahem, knew of an alternate to YouTube but... no, it just wasn't satisfactory.

As for bonus items, it can only be a matter of time until an edition is released with better extras.  I was bugged by the anemic bonus stuff for this release... but then I remembered that, at the end of the day, I'm buying the MOVIE.  The extras are supposed to be gravy.  The movie delivers the goods and ultimately that's what counts in my book.

The other thing to think about is that after doing TDK press (which likely ended around September or so), Nolan took a vacation.  Bale is probably working on two or three new movies.  Eckhart is probably doing likewise.  Gyllenhaal didn't do much TDK promo stuff, AFAIK.  Who's to say they're not all burnt out on Batman for right now and wanted to wait a while before doing interviews, commentaries or whatever else?  And this assumes that talking about the film doesn't bring up the pain and shock of Ledger's passing.

Honestly, waiting a while before diving back into this movie is probably a good idea.  As long as the next DVD isn't an extended commercial for the third film, I'll be fine.  This film deserves a special edition that doesn't attempt to whore everything under the sun with a bat-logo on it.

I was buying the special features - I could have rented the movie. I'm serious.

I guess I'm just a little "hot under the collar".

Then why not read a couple of DVD reviews on the web before making your purchase?  That way you could've found it if the set was worth buying for the extras rather than risk facing disappointment.  Cripes, most people right here on BMO would've given the DVD plenty of "ink" just for you, since you gave us the forum to hang out on.

Mind you, I'm not bashing you, I'm just saying...

Cause I'm impulsive and I have to have everything right away  ;D

I had a feeling the extras would have been pants anyway, I guess I'm just annoyed that BD-Live is not on the UK version despite every UK website I read saying it would be.

I guess I'm getting grumpy in my old age.
