The blue ray was amazing, I got the 2 disc SE dvd version too just for collection purposes. Most definitly the best experience on blue ray yet, I dont think anything will ever beat it!

Maybe a future release with better special features!

There is a deleted scene featuring The Joker that runs for roughly 25 seconds that is seen on TDK special features. That?s right.

Once Joker jumps into the school bus after pressing the detonator for the hospital, there is an angle that Nolan didn?t use. He mounted a camera in close up on Heath in the bus once he?s inside and sitting down. Joker never looks back at the hospital that?s collapsing to his left. He also has this proud, sinister smile on his face. It further cements for me how brilliant he was in this role.

Nolan said he wanted to keep the sequence simple in the edit to show the fact they did it for real ? so they just used two shots. I would have loved to see this deleted Joker scene in the film (the more Joker footage the better), but well done to Nolan for not sacrificing his vision.

Anyone from the UK here got the Blu-ray? If so, does it have the BD-Live logo on the back cover and does it infact have BD-Live???

I noticed there is a version of the US cover that doesn't mention BD-Live.

Sorry to tell you but that's about it. I read a interview Nolan did for a mag sometime when he was over here and they ask if there's anymore Heath Ledger footage left and the answer was No, apart from that one scene he used all of it in the movie not wanting to waste any.

I promise you there will be a 3 disc, its inevitible. Seeing how there were plenty of things that coulda been included on the extras it just felt like there was alot missing.

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

I bought the 2-Disc Special Steelbook case version at FYE. I was in the store for over 40 minutes checking each case to see which one was most flawless. I'm glad to say with the exception of one tiny imperfection of a scratch, mine is perfect!

My only real complaint about the DVD was the fact that there was no Heath Ledger extras. And the editing on the dvd which kind of upset me. For example, there are several parts where the Joker's rising terror theme was removed from the actual scenes and all you hear is the dialogue. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
"Jack is dead my friend. You can call me, Joker. And, as you can see, I'm a lot happier."

That's not the only deleted scene from The Dark Knight. The other one is a brief moment where the Joker drives away from Wayne's penthouse (after Rachel and Batman were dropped from the roof). A thug asks Joker, "What about Dent?" and Joker replies, "I'm a man of my word."

It's from the script. There are also photographs of the scene (released during the viral campaign), and I've seen footage of it being filmed. Hopefully we see something of it from a future DVD.

Yeah, no kidding. The one thing that everyone wants to see and it's not in the bonuses??? They definitely want to milk it.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I put The Dark Knight in my other DVD player, the Joker rising terror theme is still intact, I just couldn't hear it with the Dolby digital I guess. Looks great on the Samsung.....even though I don't have a 1080p....only a 720p.....It's a shame too, I bought it in October and I forgot all about Black Friday, I could have bought a 52" 1080p for $900. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

But the fact remains there are no good bonus features on the actual 2-Disc Special Edition, I can remember Batman Begins had over 4-hours of special features on it's Deluxe Edition.

You can tell that the studios are milking it and want to eventually release a 3-Disc Platnum Edition, or Extended Edition in the near future complete with all the documentaries including footage of the late Heath Ledger.

You guys I would relax, I was just as upset as all of you but the truth is theyre waiting to do a three disc SE, its the second biggest film of all time, there will be a 3 Disc Deluxe SE with plenty more stuff coming, if they do that with other smaller films, they will do it with this, maybe when they decide to package TDK and BB together in a set, which they will definitly do, we will see more extras.

my main thing was: No Joker makeup sessions, No Two-Face makeup sessions, pretty much nothing about The Joker or Two-Face at all.

Which tells me a 3 disc will be on its way in time, maybe even when they release all of the other 4 films on blue ray!
