Zack Snyder has revealed he is working to restore the original IMAX aspect ratio for BvS.

I heard it might be released on HBO Max before ZSJL comes out, and it may even be available on home video at some point.

Not gonna lie, I never saw a film in IMAX, but I'm more than happy to check this out. Fans of this film love to pause on frames and pick out the details in the background, and you can bet they'll analyse the IMAX frames to death. Here is a comparison between a standard aspect ratio for theatrical releases and the IMAX screens. No doubt, the longer shots on the right make the Knightmare image a lot more epic.

QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

I don't need a remastered BVS in IMAX.

But I won't say no to it either, sign me up.

I love it when home video releases preserve the IMAX experience. Still waiting on the IMAX release of M:I Ghost Protocol in any format.

Here is the first twenty-seven seconds of the Knightmare scene in the IMAX aspect ratio, as seen on Snyder's Vero account.

Snyder says the remastering job is finished off now. To be blunt, I'm looking forward to this more as an ancillary to ZSJL than anything else. Looks very interesting. As my favorite of Snyder's DC movies, seeing literally more of it can't possibly be a bad thing in my book.

Very interested in this.

Found this old Reddit post talking about possible other scenes: https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/ag06uk/bvs_deleted_scenes_not_in_bvs_ue/

Superman hearing all the cries for help as Batman rushes to save Martha is something I'm hoping gets included.

For those who are subscribed to HBO Max, the IMAX remastered version of BvS will be available on the same day as ZSJL comes out. The 4k HD Blu-Ray will come out on March 23rd.

They should release it sooner. Wanted to watch it before Justice League, not on the same day due to their runtimes.

I'm not finding this on HBO Max. The regular widescreen version is up there. But I flipped ahead to the Knightmare sequence and it's also in widescreen.

Am I doing something wrong or what?

HBO max seems to be having issues. Itunes and movies anywhere have the new version, if you have it on any of those formats.
