Shout out to Youtuber "Ernie's Sports Classics" for this next one. This is the commercial for the 1989 Batman & Joker converse shoes. This commercial is very rare, I've been looking for it for a little while now. The commercial is at 1:04.

Here's some Entertainment Tonight segments regarding Keaton and the merchandise surrounding the film.

Some commercials for the Batman video games

At 0:50 is a small clip from Kirk Hammett (Metallica) complaining about how tired he is of the hype.

This next one is a little random, but stick with me. I listen to a podcast called Saturday Night Movie Sleepovers and they did an episode on Batman. To illustrate how big of a deal Batman had become in terms of fashion the host referred to this performance by Eric Clapton in 1989 on a show called Night Music. Notice how Clapton is dressed in this performance.

I see Eric Clapton borrowed a suit from the Joker's wardrobe. I like it. 8)

Here's yet another ET news report from about B89's opening night.

QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Here's yet another ET news report from about B89's opening night.

Was there a bigger premiere in the 80's? Eddie Murphy, Sylvester Stallone, Don Johnson, Tom Selleck, Billy Crystal, Glenn Close, Melanie Griffith,Eddie Van Halen, River Phoenix, and Robert Townsend. These are huge stars at the time showing up for a film that they had no involvement in.

Here's a 10 minute profile on Michael Keaton that aired a couple of months before Batman came out.

Shout out to Epic Film Guys for preserving this Today Show segment for the Batmania in 89.

This next one is regarding the Batman Halloween costumes in 1989. Seems like this was made in the summer of 1989.

At the height of Batmania in 1989 two guitars were made in Tulsa, OK. They are extremely rare nowadays. Only 50 were made of each. Starting at 1:13 the video below covers the release of the Batman guitar.

The video below is all in Spanish but it had some Batmania b-roll that I'd never seen before.

As someone who plays guitar, I would love that Joker one. I never even knew those existed, but I just looked them up, and they go for around $3k-$4k.
