Hello, I'm Cameron, I'm new here on Batman Online. And I've come to announce that three years from now is the 25th anniversary of Batman Forever.
Batman Forever was first released on June 16, 1995. It arrived to mixed reviews from critics, but went on to gross over $336 million worldwide.
The film was a financial success, but some critics criticised the lightening of the film after the backlash of Batman Returns.
This new lighter approach in the Batman franchise was a result of executive meddling.
So that's why I've made this lifechanging petition and I need you to sign up:
https://www.change.org/p/warner-bros-to-warner-bros-release-the-director-s-cut-of-batman-forever-for-its-25th-anniversary
This petition needs 97 more supporters to reach 100, 3 have already signed up and I've already sent the link to the official WB Twitter. So check out the page and make a difference!
Until then, I am personally excited to announce... that I am planning out my own BF fan edit!
What is this fan edit?
I call it: "Batman Forever: Bigger, Battier, & Better!"
I've been thinking of drawing up my own cuts list for a few days now, so feel free to leave your suggestions for what I should do with my edit.
Also, I've seen the "Batman and Robin Deleted Scenes" forum, and after careful consideration, I think Joel Schumacher should put those scenes back where they belong in the film.
And I've recently found out about the Batman/Superman Anthology 9-Film Boxset coming next month. Hopefully it'll have some interesting bonus features.
So just comment below to let me know what you think.

Only 100 signatures will inspire WB to release a directors cut?

At last a reply! And yes, it should be enough for WB to release it for the 25th anniversary. Say, do you mind getting the word out? :)

Of course I will! I just didn't think 100- consumers would warrant the expense to release a director's cut.

Thx!

Signed. I think WB needs to swallow their pride and release the original version they intended, just as they did with BvS.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

That makes 4! Only 96 more to go! How come I'm not getting supporters so often? :D

On another note, here is my proposed cuts list for my Bf fan edit that should tide you all over until the official director's cut is released:
-The colour has been changed around. Light blue during the daytime scenes and a slight dark blue-green during the nighttime scenes. The neon has been desaturated by 25-50%.

-Musical score is different. I'm thinking either Danny Elfman or another composer.

-Replaced Warner Bros. bat transition logo with CG logo, recoloured red. The red colour grading was inspired by Scaperat's Red Book Edition.
-Arkham Escape sequence reinserted, with 50% desaturation, "Cool" temperature and "Desaturate All but Reds" added

-Different "Burton-style" opening credit sequence added

-Exterior shot of Wayne Enterprises recoloured

-Nygma introduction remains the same, albeit with extended shots

-Bruce travelling through the tunnel is also retained. "I've left Wayne Enterprises en route to the Batcave" and "All is ready, sir" added.

-Removed "Can I persuade you to take a sandwich with you, sir" and "I'll get drive-thru", funny as it may be IMO.

-Removed "Hot entrance" and "Really? I didn't know that. You are interesting. And call me Chase"

-Removed "Blast him!" for the sake of an extended shot of Two-Face's excitement for Batman's death (shot taken from the Seal music video) to show he's obviously desperate for Batman to die

-Added alternate shots of Batman kicking down the thugs to the floor with his one-liner "Going down?"

-Added alternate shot of Batman discovering the guard in the safe

-"This'll fix him" replaced with "If the Bat wants to play, we'll play!"

-Batman and Two-Face deleted scene reinserted and edited heavily

-Nygmabox test subject scene and Stickley murder re-edited

-I've kept "Bad Days" by The Flaming Lips, for I am very concerned about songs being credited in movies (especially fan edits) so I think it's reasonable to keep the song intact for the sake of billing

-"Wayne Manor" and "Hmph!" removed

-Circus scene is kept intact. Only thing that needs changing in this scene is score and I think the shots with Edward show his inspiration by Two-Face.

-Added scenes from Batman '89 to the flashback scene

-"It's the car, right? Chicks love the car" removed

-Car chase removed

-"Dick's pain" deleted scene reinserted

-Alternate "Who the hell are you?" from Two-Face

-Don't know if I should remove a large chunk of the Riddler/Two-Face team up scene. I'll have to check the credits to see if 'Looney Tunes' is credited.

-Casino heist sequences removed; now it's just Dick's karate laundry (I think it sets up O'Donnell's skills), the "Beauty and the Batman" deleted scene and the scene with Riddler in the getaway jalopy

-Nygmatech press conference trimmed a bit

-Dick's drive in the Batmobile and talking to the R&B girls is left as is. I think it brings great wit and charm into the film.

-Added cameos for the circus gang, The Penguin, and Catwoman (all from Batman Returns) into the scene at the Batcave, including an edited clip from B89

-Added U2's "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" into the Nygmatech party

-Edward and Two-Face conversation is gone

-Added alternate shots of Batman's fight at the party with Two-Face's thugs

-"Bruce's lament" deleted scene reinserted and altered

-"Bats on the Brain" scene altered

-One of the shots where Two-Face flips his coin is removed, leaving only two shots

-Altered Riddler destroying the Batcave

-"Secrets of the Batcave" deleted scene edited together as Bruce's nightmare

-Removed rooftop scene with Gordon

-Riddler's turbulence joke and "I hope they can find the little black box" line excised

-60's Batman reference retained for nostalgia purposes

-Scene at Riddler's lair remains the same, with only a slight edit

-Two-Face's death now plays out more emotionally with a new score.

-"Does it ever end?" deleted scene added, along with a new ending shot for Batman

-Bat graphic during end credit scroll recoloured from blue to red

-New "Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures" end card inserted

So, if you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to reply. :)

Signed. BF is my favourite film of the series.
Ohhhh, that looks like fun! Lemme try! *Lemme try!* Ball up the fist, reach way back, and assert your... OW!!
