Speaking of it, you guys are geting it for wich consoles? I think I will take it for PC :)
PS3 for me.

Been playing the demo quite a bit. It's addictive and very polished. I knew it would be good, but this is something else.

*Removes glasses* "Didn't you get the demo?"

I know the premise is similar to the graphic novel where the Joker gives up easily and batman figures that he planned to get sent to arkham. Similar to his plot to get caught in the dark knight but not quite the same. Plus I know Barbara Gordon/Oracle is in the game post-Batgirl paralyzed (by the joker) and obviously in the dark knight, Barbara Gordon is just a little girl.

I will probably get it for the DS if it comes out on that system. Otherwise I will get it on PS3.

Yeah man, the premise of the game is not so "new" as I thought! ::) And isn't is coming out for DS unfortunately
Batman Arkham Asylum: The Batman game the fans were waiting for.

Is anyone else getting the special edition?

I must admit I was a bit sceptical all this period (due to experience with lots of flawed licenced games), until I read some reviews and saw the ratings at metacritic. Finally, it seems Batman has the game he deserves.

QuoteYes, this is the Batman you've been waiting for...It's a wonderful experience, beginning to end, never taking the easy or familiar route, and infusing each shift of the story with original ideas that cut no corners. [Oct 2009, p.70]

QuoteThe whole game is a class act. The fighting is sophisticated but arcade-addictive, the visuals are stylish, and the Lara-like exploration is smartly done. Plus the DC heritage feels all-encompassing like a big blanket. Arkham Asylum is comfortably the best comic book game that PlayStation's ever had, and is up there with the system's best actioners, full stop. [Sept 2009, p.95]

Regardless of whether you're getting sucked into the Story mode or competing for high scores in the Challenge mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum does an outstanding job of letting you be Batman. Everything about this game--the impressive visuals, stirring soundtrack, superb voice acting, fiendish puzzles, hard-hitting combat--feels like it has been lovingly crafted by a development team that's both knowledgeable and passionate about the source material.

QuoteOne of those games that comes along every few years that will have gamers talking about it long into the future. It is this year's BioShock, and I for one could not put it down from start to finish. If you enjoy great narrative, interesting boss encounters, fresh gameplay and of course everyone's favorite detective then Arkham Asylum will not disappoint.

QuoteIt's a triumph of mood and psychological tension, and devoted fans will find a great deal to excite them. But they're also bound to be disappointed by its reliance on repetitive combat and a shortage of villains worth the big man's attention.

I thought about it, but I won't. I think it's a waste of money. All you really get is the batarang, and I'm not too interested in that.
