Completely agree a TDK game would have been only slightly better then the pretty good Begins one, i think we can all imagine how it would have went: a straight port of the moviewith batman moving from point A to B with a tumbler sequence thrown in and movie cutscenes to top it off.

As a fan of the more fantasy style of batman, the outragous villains ect, where you dont have to think of reality AA is solid gold little bits like the patient tapes, the costumes ect make forprobably the best Superhero game around.

You can just tell the producers had a love for the character.

I really hope a sequel is in the works.
Massively agreed. I want it to have the same look and method of play - but opened up to Gotham City, with vehicles.

Though for the second game, I'd much rather have the ability to replay boss battles and other segments of the game in the same game file, rather than having to start a new game altogether. Plus I'd like the ability to re-watch cinematics.

As we know at the end of the game, Two Face is mentioned to be robbing the Gotham National Bank. Plus that box of Titan floats to the surface. So they can incorporate those things into a sequel.

A prequel would be interesting too. Batman mentions an attack Poison Ivy made on Gotham 'last year'.

I had only one run throught the game - I don't own a PS3, a friend does, and we rented the disc a week ago for a weekend Batman-marathon, so I didn't dig quite that deep into the game i.e. we finished it once, listened to some tapes and saw some extras, but didn't replay it.

The lack of major antagonists (Two-Face? Catwoman? Penguin?), combined with the post-credits sequence, is what really gives one hope that the designers intended for the game to end in such a way as to leave the story open for a sequel.

It all depends on sales figures. I did a quick search and things look good. God, it's the first time in my life I ever actually cared whether a game does well in the market.  ;D

This game is so sweet, and the face and stance is totally Keaton.

I think the vibe of Batman's world was pretty much nailed in the game.

It was a dark, gritty world but set in the world of comic book. Not just the look, but the scenarios are pure fantasy - killer plants tearing Arkham apart, etc.

Perhaps after Nolan's done, we can get something like this, which mixes the Burton and Nolan styles together.

I doubt that the movies will have such a fantastic style anytime soon. But you know what? Metal Gear Solid doesn't need a movie, and Resident Evil is a cinematic experience only when you hold the joypad.

What I hope for this Batman game is to become a game series, the past shows that other succesful games based on comics spawned sequels (Activision's Spider-Man and X-Men: Mutant Academy), and Eidos is one of the largest publishers, they would never miss a chance to turn something that sells well into a franchise. Crystal Dynamic's Legacy of Kain never came close to Lara Croft's popularity, but still had 4 sequels and established its own self-contained universe. I don't see why the Batman established in AA can't be like that.

There's a certain prejudice most people have towards games, as if something is "lesser", or less of an "event", because it was designed as a game and not a movie or cartoon. The best games of the current generation have movie-like production values and are often BETTER scripted than movies because the format allows for more creative freedom and less compromise. I would flat-out say that Arkham Asylum is one of the best Batman screen versions, and not just game versions (which wouldn't seem like saying much, anyway).

I agree. I think we will get a sequel at least. From there, who knows.

I heard on IGN, the developers have already charted out two sequels. Head over there, its one of the big stories floating around.

Got to say Gotham Knight, that signature is awesome.
