Zack Snyder asked for Nolan's blessing to make Batman v Superman

This is a good PR line for Snyder. It's basically a way of saying "Hey, you guys who like the Nolan films to the exclusion of all else? It's okay to enjoy my movie too." It's marketing fluff. Don't give it any consideration beyond that.

Agreed. If Snyder's favorite cinematic version of Batman is the Nolan trilogy and other filmmakers see that as the definitive take, then so be it. It doesn't bother me so long as whoever's doing the film is staying true to their own vision and what they want from the source material.

So far, Snyder's shown that he's already aiming for a different take, with a more comic accurate suit, mechanical voice, superpowered allies, and at least one past Robin.

Now, if he put Affleck in the ugly rubber jigsaw armor, made him do the throat cancer voice, and did some kind of loose continuity thing where this Bruce came back from Italy and everyone thinks he and Batman are dead from Bane's attack, then I'd be pissed. Thankfully, that's not the case here.
That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

Again, pretty much. Nolan has no control whatsoever in stopping or approving anything, but it's the tokenistic gesture of it all. It's Snyder's way of getting 'approval' from the other guy to bring his crowd along too. The guy who is held up as the golden child.

I think you're right.  And I was never under any delusion that Nolan had the power to stop BvS getting made, even if he wanted to.

It just still irks me, especially, as thecolorsblend suggests, some 'fans' seem to love the Nolan films to the exclusion of anything else associated with Batman.  As someone who has got plenty of time for pretty much every incarnation of Batman, Burton, Nolan, West, the animated series and Schumacher (at least Batman Forever), the way some people treat TDK trilogy as the 'one and only' Batman strikes me as pretty small-minded.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

That "asking for a blessing" thing made my eyes roll. I can't say I even care about this new Batman though.

I don't think it affects the new Batman in any way though.

Batfleck is ticking all the right boxes for me so far.

I hope I'm wrong. But I didn't like Man of Steel at all. It reminded me to much of The Dark Knight. Which means I thought it was a no-fun, overly serious Superman movie. And that to me is no Superman movie at all. To me that's no Batman movie at all either.

Batman vs Superman looks like it'll be a dark Batman movie but not a "realistic" one. I thought Man of Steel was good, though I still prefer the classic Superman by comparison.

Maybe I'm just old. But to me Superman and Batman are the Christopher Reeve and Michael Keaton movies. Nothing else can replace them in my heart.
