Here is an exclusive clip from Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice presented by Warner Bros.  What I find interesting is the fan theories surrounding this clip.  Some say this is a dream sequence while others feel that this is real.   What's also interesting is that Batman's eye makeup disappears when his mask is removed just like in Batman Returns.

Dream sequence or not, it's a great teaser.

Kind of reminds me of when Superman found out Batman was Bruce before:

Obviously, Superman barely has to put forth any effort.

Bruce shows an appropriate mix of fear and anger here.

This scene is another example that gives me confidence that Affleck will deliver. And yet, I'm still seeing these outrageous comments by some people who post facepalm images to express their disapproval of him being cast in the role.  ::)

Seriously, does Affleck have some sort of notorious reputation that I'm not aware of?
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

I think it's The Richard Donner Effect. Donner gave zillions of interviews saying the reason his Superman films work as well as they do is because the audience saw Christopher Reeve in the role rather than anyone else because he was an unknown at the time.

Of course he wasn't an unknown. He'd had a lukewarm acting career. It would be fair to say some number of people recognized him from his other work when they saw Superman- The Movie.

But irrespective, this boner for unknown has become entrenched Fanboy Groupthink. "Unknowns good, established stars bad". It doesn't matter that an unknown hasn't played Batman, the Joker or other iconic characters at any time in the last three decades. It doesn't matter that Christopher Reeve is the first, last and only successful example of a relative unknown delivering an incredible, iconic performance that will stand the test of time.

Unknowns good, established stars bad. It truly is that simple.

I think you're unfortunately right, colors.  :-\

To me, the contempt towards Affleck stems from his work from the early/mid 2000's. Where it became generally favored to criticize the guy's choice of projects, acting ability, ect. Where his friend Matt Damon was celebrated, Affleck quickly became a much more polarizing figure and the shadow of the Haterade from that time period in his career still, to this day, looms large. Which is in spite of some really good performances/directorial efforts he's given in the past 10 or so years. *sigh*
"Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is."

It might be a combination of people preferring unknown castings and people who have a distaste for Affleck, but from what I can tell, it's more geared towards the latter. I've seen people refer to his body of work from thirteen or so years ago, like Joker said, without any acknowledgement of his acting and directing in the last decade. I noticed that these people usually get obsessed about box office revenue or Oscar success as a measure for film success, but they never give Affleck his due. I find it very odd.

I am not an Affleck fan but not a hater either, actually I only ever saw him in "Daredevil", and that was more than 10 years ago.

So far, his Batman looks very promising.
