I don't agree with the article, and I have some reservations about some of the points it makes i.e. Goldenthal's music better than Eflman's? No way! But there are some points I do appreciate i.e. putting Dick Grayson/Robin is way better than creating a new character by slapping the name "Robin" on him (here's looking at you, Dark Knight Rises). Or BF's Batmobile fits more of a "Batmobile" style than that atrocius Tumbler piece of crap.

BF is not my favourite Batman movie by any means, but a part of me does feel happy that somebody can enjoy the film's merits without blindly condemning it.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Some parts are.....can we still be friends? lol

I liked that story. I don't necessarily agree with a lot of it (mainly since Returns is the best :P ) but a lot of it I like and agree with. I used to say Forever was my fav, believe it or not! I liked Returns for Catwoman and not much else, now I've embraced the totality of that movie (by being here, thanks peeps!) but I still love Forever and always will.

To me, and maybe this is just me, it came the closest in tone, dialogue, and stuff to being "comic book-y". Not the super dark stuff from now but I mean the stuff that has those kind of corny lines as Batman is kicking ass. Dick Tracy type stuff. Make sense? Like the scene on top of Gotham PD, the dialogue between Batsy and Chase.

The opening logo morph. How cool is that?

'I'll get drive-thru.' Best. Opening. Line. Uttered. By. A. Superhero. In. Their. Own. Movie. Ever. FOREVER.

Tommy Lee Jones brings serious acting chops to Harvey Two-Face

the back of the suit shows off the work Batman has been doing down the gym.

I quite like BF, but can't take seriously whatever else he says about anything related to this movie.

First off, HI NECTARINE!  :P

Second off yah that part made me laugh. He must not have paid much attention. Tommy Lee tried to outJim Jim. lol

"Nectarine".. I tried to be civil the first time, don't think I didn't try... lol

I know you did ;)

Hey it's kind of close to Nycteris.... :-[

If you hadn't been such a goober when I asked who you were maybe I would have been less of a brat about it. :P

Never been the most talkative type, that's all :)

See? I was just trying to bring you out of your shell. lol

Frankly I'm delighted somebody is saying such nice things about it. Obviously it's not the best Batman film TRULY. That will be Michael Keaton's debut but this unconditional hatred for all things Schumacher just pisses me off no end.

I'm proud to say that for a little while in the mid to late 90's Batman Forever was my favorite by far. I wore the VHS player out playing it again and again when it was brand spanking new. Robin. The Riddler. Two-Face. A new Batmobile. The return of the Batwing. A new Batboat. A rocking soundtrack album featuring U2 and many others. Action sequences far more grander and colorful than anything featured in the Burton films (or even today). It was indeed "the greatest show on Earth!" to me.

I must say I am quite disappointed it hasn't been getting the 20th anniversary dignity it so deserves for a movie that successful. Now fans are suddenly talking about Batman's 26th anniversary or Batman Returns's 23rd anniversary (or something). Almost like everyone's trying to come up with excuses so as not to focus on Schumacher's little piece of Bat history. I've ultimately decided to do my own lol

I love it! Tommy Lee Jones was fine. The character probably could've been done better, but he went the way with his version of Two-Face the same way all Burton/Schumacher villains did: Flamboyant, loud and angry. It was a staple.

I can agree that Jim Carrey's Riddler can have some iffy moments, but I enjoy his staff twirling and his lines.

I like a lot of the Robin stuff.

Val Kilmer is pretty likable Bruce Wayne, and an okay Batman.

The lesson in this is solid.

The fact that they have batcave origin story and where Bruce got the idea for Batman is neat.

Decent continuity between movies.

Bruce finding peace with himself at the end is great.

It's nice to watch all the films and see a development from a violent troubled vigilante, a killing vigilante, a man with a dislike for his place in life because of his unheroic decisions, a man at peace with his past and a forgiveness to himself for the things he done and looking forward to his new life as a hero, to then a man able to accept that he can't control everything who is able to ask for help.
