The film is great.

Nice review, Riddler.

Apparently, Deadpool is predicted to receive a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars this year.

I personally couldn't care less about awards ceremony in general, and I still don't. I saw Deadpool last year, and although I enjoyed it for what was, I don't think I'd go back and see it again. It was a farce of a film, but Deadpool ridiculing its own genre is exactly what it's supposed to be. But is this the kind of thing that comic book fans want to look up to, a film/character that treats it like a joke?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Here is a mock Oscar consideration ad, after the post-credit scene.

Is anyone getting tired by the jokes yet? I don't find myself going to see the sequel.

At this stage in the superhero movie genre, where in years past having a superhero comic book movie was something of a novelty, where now where it's abundant in supply, tinkering with the approach, so to speak, and taking risks isn't just good, rather, it's necessary if Hollywood wants to keep making movies like this. Studio's taking risks with characters who probably wouldn't even get the opportunity for a movie without those more dependable, standard superhero films is ultimately something positive. Deadpool, I believe, qualifies as just one example of this.

In any case, it doesn't really matter because Deadpool didn't get nominated for anything anyway. But Suicide Squad got nominated for Best Hair and Makeup, and people are not happy. ;D
