Just when I thought the Smylex commercial couldn't be any funnier, I found this video of a couple of people imitating Mark Hamill and Arleen Sorkin to recreate lines in the scene.  ;D

Brilliant. They sound exactly like the BTAS voice actors, and the additional lines at the end are a nice touch.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

My memory of it is that I saw B89 three times in theaters back in 1989. The showings were probably spread out from June 23 until late August.

Every. Single. Time. That I saw the movie, the audience roared when Batman beckoned Bob to him, then Bob dropped the knife and made a run for it. For whatever reason, that was a big crowd-pleasing moment in the movie at every showing.

That's pretty cool. I only was able to see Batman once back in '89, and my memories of the screening are kinda vague. However, I do vividly recall the initial "try" to see it being a complete bust. I was with my mom, and my cousin, and before we could even get in line at the theater, a man (I assume the manager?) stepped out and announced that Batman and another movie (I don't remember what) were absolutely sold out. So yeah, my kid self was pretty dejected having to walk right back to the car after getting there only minutes earlier, but I was able to see it the following night. So oh well. If anything, this probably just heightened my anticipation waiting to see the movie the next day even more so.

I've been able to see B89 2-3 times since 2015 thanks to Retro Screenings at the local theater (got to see Batman The Movie, and Batman Mask of the Phantasm this way too, but no screenings for any of the '90's live action Batman sequels so far), and one part that I distinctly remember getting a laugh from some people, was the shot of the big video recording camera behind the mirror in the display room at Wayne Manor.

A clear example of viewing the past through modern eyes.
"Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is."

If you liked that video, you might like this one too.  ;D

Not quite as good as the first video, but this vocal interpretation does remind me of Hamill's aging, Arkhamverse-like Joker.  ;D
