Quote'Man of Steel 2' News: Cinematographer Larry Fong Shares Photo on Twitter Teasing About 'The Joker'

By Jenalyn Villamarin | May 21, 2014 4:51 PM EST

Cinematographer Larry Fong shared a photo on Twitter of a playing card stuck in concrete. The shared image has ignited the reports on the possible appearance of the villain called The Joker in the upcoming "Man of Steel 2" film.

The Design & Trend report noted that the face of the card was not shown in the shared photo but it appears Larry Fong knew that the fans would guess what his post on his Twitter account @larryfong was all about. Click HERE to see the teaser photo that the "Man of Steel 2" cinematographer shared.

According to the io9 report, there is a possibility that Larry Fong's tweet could bring back the Joker in the "Man of Steel" sequel or indicate the villain character's appearance in a Justice League film. The leaked image further increased the rumours about the Joker's return from the fans speculation of spotting the character's face in the Batmobile that director Zack Snyder previously shared on the social media site.

Although the appearance of the Joker in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film looks plausible, fans who are still hoping to see actor Jason Momoa in the film will be disappointed with what the "Game of Thrones" star had to say about his involvement. "What does everything tell you? No. Stop asking me. It's so annoying. Sorry, you're not annoying," Jason Momoa told the reporter who asked the 34-year-old actor about the Aquaman or Lobo role in the movie sequel at the Motor City Comic Con held last Sunday, May 18.

The actor added that he thinks the casting reports started to surface when people would ask him questions about the upcoming film. "When people said 'What superhero would you play?' And I'd say Batman and Superman, they'd be awesome together. Then people were like, 'He's in Batman vs. Superman!'" the actor shared.

Momoa further added that the same happened when he admitted that he likes Lobo and then the casting report including Aquaman came out on the Internet. "Not that it's a bad rumor," Jason Momoa stated.

"Man of Steel 2" cast members include Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as villain Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. The movie sequel, also called as the Batman vs. Superman film, will be hitting movie theaters on May 6, 2016.

Apparently, this is the picture that Fong tweeted.

And that's not all...

QuoteBut Larry Fong knows you can't just share a playing card without threatening to tumble the entire, delicate house of cards Zack Snyder currently is constructing in Michigan on the set of Batman vs. Superman. So let's talk about this. Could the Joker be in Snyder's Man of Steel 2 (or whatever it ends up being called)? Sure. Warner Bros. and DC Comics appear to be using this movie as the evolution of their on-screen universe, so populating it with iconic figures is necessary. But we already know that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are on board, as is Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) as the chief villain. Is there room for the Clown Prince? Not really, but he'd make a fantastic end-credits sequence building into Zack Snyder's Justice League movie, wouldn't he?

Now, Larry Fong was somewhat quick to diffuse the situation... but even his word choice was vague. Movies.com editor Erik Davis joked about Fong's tweet, and the cinematographer responded. Look at this back and forth, and make of it what you will:

Love how BATMAN VS. SUPES cinematographer @larryfong posts a pic of a card trick & the internet freaks out, thinks Joker is in the movie

@ErikDavis Finally, someone who can see the obvious. Thank you.

So what does anyone else think? If this rumour is true, I'd to see the Joker in a post-credits scene only, similar to Thanos in The Avengers that foreshadows upcoming events in Justice League or whatever. I'd like to keep the Man of Steel sequel as Superman-centric as possible to be honest. Although, it could be Fong is just stirring up trouble just for the sake of it. Why? I have no idea.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Is Joker in MoS2? Well, since everybody else is in this thing (I'm still waiting on 2-D Man's confirmation), I say why not.

I hope Joker is actually funny in this one. Is that too much to hope for?  ;D

You didn't find the pencil trick funny Edd?
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

Funny? No. It was a violent and somewhat stupid "trick".

Fair enough.  But the Joker has never been one to treat violence and comedy as mutually exclusive.

heath's joker did make me giggle some. maybe i'm just more psycho than the rest of you. well, actually that probably isn't even up for debate. i am. but that is beside the point.

if this was a one time only massive movie event then i would say yes you have to have the joker. and how about FINALLY getting harley on the big screen? but since this is clearly supposed to be franchised, idk, i would wait.

i TOTALLY have like a script or story idea for a batman & supes vs joker and lex luthor (and no it doesn't copy world's finest lol). maybe i should submit it? if i randomly disappear and you guys suddenly see that every scene in the movie is having to be reshot you will know they picked up my script and paid me $5 million for it and so i'm too busy carousing with the rich and famous to deal with the little people.

I think it's a really dumb rumor, personally.  The director of photography just takes a photo of a playing card in concrete and everyone makes leaps in logic.
That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

if by leaps you mean a baby's very first step that doesn't even really qualify as a step, then i agree.
