Shreck treated his employees better than Bruce Wayne

This topic could go in either the 'Batman Returns' board or the 'Batman Forever' one, but it can fit in either as you will see...

My point is that Shreck apparently paid his employees a better salary than Bruce Wayne paid his.  In 'Batman Returns' 'poor' secretary Selina Kyle owns a car which she drives to Bruce Wayne's manor, whereas genius scientist Ed Nygma, who is roughly the same age as Selina in the earlier film, only owns a bicycle that he rides all the way from the city to Wayne Manor in order to leave his dismissive multi-billionaire boss a riddle.  Nygma's apartment is arguably just as small if not smaller than Selina's in 'Batman Returns', and probably more cramped.

So, yeah, who exactly is the bad capitalist and who exactly is the good capitalist between Shreck and Wayne?  :-X
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

i am sure bruce's secretary was much more well off than selina was. you are comparing an apple and an orange to compare her and nygma.

You'd think a genius scientist like Nygma would be better off than a secretary, surely...

and how was bruce dismissive? edward was out of his freaking mind but bruce took the time to talk to him and was going to have something set up on his project. it wasn't until edward said he needed an answer right then that bruce had to tell him no because, like he said, it raised too many questions.

you sure seem to go out of your way to diss bruce/batman a lot.

no one else saw him as a genius. they saw him as a lunatic.

Ed Nygma was definitely a 'genius' (look at what he invented), and you know what they say about the fine line between genius and madness.

point is nobody took him that seriously. otherwise he wouldn't have been riding a bicycle.

or maybe he just preferred to ride. maybe this edward/riddler liked to work his brain AND body. "like the jacket? it keeps me safe when i'm jogging at night." lol

:D  Maybe...

But nobody took Selina Kyle seriously either and she seemed to be better paid.  Then again, maybe her parents gave her some money for the car and so on, but she was determined to stick it out in Gotham and prove to them that she had what it took to succeed in the big bad city.

Ed probably didn't come from any money to begin with.

Just because Nygma rode a bike in that scene does not mean he didn't have a car;

it's quite possible that he purposely did not want to drive an identifiable vehicle to wayne manor to drop a riddle (ie one with plates that could be traced to him) since he is attempting to conceal his identity as the riddler. Wayne Manor probably had security cameras.

Also Bruce didn't try to KILL his secretary.

Nygma wasn't treated poorly by Wayne, he just said no to his idea when put on the spot. Nygma wouldn't have been paid any more or less than the other people in his division. He had a particular way of living, and I think it was mainly by choice. Long hair, magazine clippings everywhere and poor social skills. That doesn't necessarily make him poor, and I also agree with riddler's comment about the bike outside Wayne Manor.
