ok so like i read this thing that said joel wanted nicole to play poison ivy in batman forever but decided three was a crowd with villains so he made her chase instead. she could have been a pretty good ivy i think. how about you boys?

honestly nicole (and chase) are finally growing on me after like 20 years lol. she used to irritate the sh*t out of me and i was like "we gave up a return of michelle for THIS?!" but i'm beginning to love the character.  her chase (hehe) of batman is fun and omg the sexual tension on top of gcpd.

but yea back on topic lol. she could have been a good ivy. maybe she could have been the greenery in the movie and joel could have saved riddler for b&r.

Nicole Kidman as Ivy would have worked just fine. Especially Nicole Kidman circa 1995.
"Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is."

was nicole going blonde at the time or was that a dye job for her role as chase? i know (think? lol) she is a natural redhead or at least that is what she usually is.

it helps if i say why i asked that. stupid corn dog.

i wonder if joel would have had her keep it blonde if that was her color of choice at the time and had a blonde poison ivy like tim had a blonde catwoman.

Dye job I'm sure. Her hair was pretty light blonde in the film, though she appeared at the premiere (which aired on the E! channel) that summer with hair that was decidedly more strawberry blonde (and curly).

Yes, I've seen the pics of the premiere.  Her hair was more her natural red colour and curlier texture at the premiere.  She was also a straight-blonde during the same year's 'To Die For'.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

I haven't read anything pertaining to Ivy being rumoured as a villain in the third film although I'd be wiling to garner than Batman Forever had more rewrites and script changes than any other Bat film.

It seems the Chase Meridian character was a part of the plot from the early going, it's been well documented initially Renee Russo was lined up for the role opposite Keaton.

Comparing the two over the years Uma has had more success in leading roles and has played more memorable characters in secondary roles such as Pulp fiction.

Exactly.  It seems that Chase Meridian was designed to be the main female lead quite early on in the proceedings and the rumour about Poison Ivy turning up in 'Batman 3' seems even more dubious than the one about Max Shreck's originally being taken by Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

I don't entirely agree that Uma Thurman has been more of a success than Nicole Kidman though.  Kidman is still one of the most viable actresses in the world and for a time during the early to mid 00s she seemed to be everywhere and always turning up on Oscar nomination lists.  Whereas, Uma Thurman's two biggest hits to date were both Tarantino movies.  In fact her blockbuster movie record is not terribly impressive bearing in mind that she turned up in 'Batman & Robin' and 'The Avengers' in back-to-back summers.
