Rumours are now circulating that Wonder Woman might appear in 'Batman v Superman': http://thedissolve.com/news/874-the-speculometron-is-warner-bros-adding-wonder-wom/

That seems fine to me but another source is suggesting that more members of the JLA (such as The Flash and the Green Lantern) might feature in the next movie, which seems like overkill to me.

Is Warner Bros involved in some kind of race to make a JLA movie that go toe-to-toe with 'The Avengers' films?  Wouldn't it be more sensible to take the Marvel route and introduce each member of the team in their own movie before doing a big team-up film?
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

I was going to say the same thing. I thought we were getting a Batman vs Superman film here? Or basically Man of Steel 2: The Sequel featuring Batman. All of a sudden it's turned into more of a bloody Justice League movie.

The short answer is yes Warners is merely creating a cash cow. They want a slice of that Marvel money pie and the hell with great future Bat creativity. The curse of The Avengers has struck and tis a mortal blow indeed. I'm really not arsed at all about all these team up schemes. Can't understand why fans think it's so brilliant. I think it was a fun and entertaining idea to do it with The Avengers but when everybody else then wants to do it? What's the friggin point?! We have rumours of an X-Men and Fantastic Four combined film. For no reason whatsoever other than it's the cash trend right now, so do it. Then we have the recently announced Daredevil tv show and other series which will all link in to form the culmination, The Defenders. Not sure about that one...

I just find it all lame and getting increasingly stupid. Mark my words in five years superhero films will have degenerated into a kind of bizarre "Frankenstein meets the Wolfman and versus Dracula" territory. Instead of great movies with strong scripts we're just getting money and trend excuses to slam characters together. The other thing I think it all does is exhaust great movie characters. Look at Iron Man. Three movies in and we're fed up of him. He's been massively overexposed thanks to further spinoffs like The Avengers to the point where Marvel now has to hold off an Iron Man IV for several years. Worse it's possibly bored Robert Downer Jr to death at this point and perhaps more quickly encouraged his future departure from the series for fresh challenges. Soon Thor and Captain America will be ripe for saturation.

Also isn't the lady rumoured to play Wonder Woman the same actress who played Sif in Thor? That's a bit bizarre too. Isn't she basically playing a very similar character? I can't help but feel that's a mere rumour because it's so stupid to go over to DC to basically do the same role.

I agree with much of what you say Cobblepot4Mayor.  I do agree that Warners is treating this like a cash-cow and not thinking of the long-term prospects of the DC characters they own.  'The Avengers' is a great template for a 'JLA' franchise but Marvel Studios/Disney at least built up to their team-up movie after four-years of individual character movies.

As for the actress rumoured to be playing 'Wonder Woman' there are a number of contenders rumoured including Jamie Alexander, the woman who plays Sif in 'Thor', and Olga Kurylenko, who gave a decent performance in the underrated 'Quantum of Solace' and would be my personal preference out of the four actresses suggested.  It's not even be confirmed that the character in question is Wonder Woman but I wouldn't necessarily object to that conceit as long as the filmmakers don't feel the need to overstuff the film with other future JLA members.

Sure, I can see where they are coming from. But at the same time, I'm getting tired of seeing butt hurt Superman fans whinge about this. Superman is going to be featured in this movie, and will also be a focal point in the following ones too I presume. Kingdom Come for example is chocker block with characters, but is a Superman tale at heart, and one of the very best. In team scenarios, we see the distinct character traits come out more than ever, in contrast. How he opposes to Batman's views and methods. I say bring it all on.
