I'd be surprised if he was, didn't Burton and Depp have a falling out over Helena Bonham Carter? Depp hasn't worked with him since Dark Shadows, if I recall correctly.
Did Depp and Carter date or something? Must have missed that.

No, they were close friends and Burton dumping her made Depp angry, I believe.

I like your take on that.

Evidently, a part of Shoredich was shut down for a week, and posters of Catherine O'Hara were seen. Looks like Delia is doing some self promotion for something. Also, (it might be a misunderstanding) some people are claiming that Johnny Depp has been seen.

Huh.

I wonder if she found herself a new hobby, and subsequently found success? Or did her sculpting(s) of Beetlejuice (which captured his likeness pretty well considering her prior quirky/abstract sculpturing that apparently no one that mattered liked) bring her a following of some notoriety?

Can't really speak on Depp. If he actually does have a part in this, perhaps Burton gave Depp a call of support during the whole Amber Heard-Turd divorce trial and they patched things up?

During the Flash Q and A, Keaton spoke about BJ 2. Apparently he and Burton are having a lot of fun. Also, practical effects are being heavily used. The Waiting Room is back.

Sets are being built in Vermont in the original town that stood in for Winter River. We're returning to the Maitland house.

Just to confirm East Corinth is indeed hosting BJ 2. I'll upload photos when I can, but they are currently building the Maitland house on the same hill.

I wonder if that's how the film opens up. With Beetlejuice's waiting number finally being called?  ;D

That's interesting. Curious to see how the Maitland's absence is fully addressed? Right now, I'm leaning more into the idea that Beetlejuice will be more of a protagonist for the sequel (as he also was in the animated series). With Lydia very reluctantly summoning him from the Neitherworld out of desperation against a probably living antagonist who exorcising ghosts. Which, in the grand scheme of things, would give Beetlejuice the opportunity to prove his "Living Buster" claims of 'getting rid of the living' fully...

I've always suspected that would be a gag they couldn't pass up. He finally gets his day in court.

The waiting room would be the perfectly logical way to start a sequel. It provides a seamless continuation.

The closest we have seen of this, was when Beetlejuice performed his own unique "test of strength" on Maxie Dean and his wife, but it's inconclusive if they actually died, or were just left with, at the very least, splitting headaches.

I wouldn't be surprised if the living antagonist is related, or was an associate with Otho in the past. Being that Otho, prior to the events in '88, had been a paranormal researcher, I'm sure his interest in the field would have definitely increased following his access to the "Deceased" book, and run in with Beetlejuice. They could also play with the notion of Delia (with her being successful now with her sculpturing) eventually considered Otho a 'hanger on' at some point, and severed ties with him. Leaving him financially stressed, and perhaps even passing away as a consequence. But not before providing his knowledge to a relative/associate/protege that proves to be more proficient and adept with the paranormal, and exorcisms (and can also change a tire if need be). Perhaps, kicking the plot off by paying a visit to the Maitland's house and performing an exorcism out of nothing but pure spite.
