Dark Knight Retires Web-Series

Hey everybody,

My name is Hunter Davis and I'm the co-creator of a new web-series called "The Dark Knight Retires" coming out in a couple of weeks. It's an 8 episode parody about Batman giving up the cape and cowl to pursue a relationship with Catwoman while dealing with other supervillains. Even though it's a comedy, we wanted to make the show and costumes look as high quality as possible.

We built the Batsuit from the ground up except for the cowl that was made custom. If you guys are interested, I can definitely go into more detail about the building process. Also since we are premiering the show on Wednesday August 14th, you can check out our facebook page for more info at:

This looks really promising Retired Batman.  I particularly like the look of Mr Freeze and the actress playing Catwoman is pretty.

Is it meant to be a parody of Christian Bale retiring in TDKR?

Thanks so much guys, we're pretty excited now that we start airing in a little over a week. Yeah Catwoman was great and is Batman's major love interest in the show so you'll definitely see a lot of her.

So happy to hear you liked the Mr. Freeze look, johnny. We really tried to combine several versions of the characters to come up with the look of the costume. Mr. Freeze is very much a mix between the Animated Series and a little of the 60's show thrown in there. His gun is a bit more Schwarzenegger though... for better or worse, haha.

Hey Johnnygobbs, just replied to your other post. Thanks for taking the time to check it out. As far as The Dark Knight Rises, this isn't really directly connected. The direction of the series is more of a combination of several interpretations of the character, Bale's included. The Cowl is very Batman Begins-ish for example and our Batman speaks in a very Bale-ish voice.

But as for storylines, we sort of take the idea that Batman is in his prime and has gotten so good at protecting Gotham, that he's continually taken for granted by the people, the police, etc. So he finally decides he wants to try something different and lead a normal life....but he can't let go of being a crimefighter. And ontop of that, he stilll has all of his rogue's gallery to deal with. We really wanted to take the idea of someone having a mid-life crisis and wanting to quit their career, but applying it to Batman and still have respect for the world and the characters.

Ontop of it being funny hopefully, haha. So hopefully that makes a little more sense. I'd love to answer any other questions you guys may have if you like.
