What I mean is that maybe Burton's Batman shouldn't have killed. But rather taken the crazy villains to Arkham Asylum.

I'm not really objecting to Batman killing since he does it in some comics. It's just that if he didn't kill we might have got to see Burton's Arkham Asylum.

No. It is what it is. The Burton Batman was such a control freak that I couldn't foresee him wanting to hand over his prey. All Star Batman and Robin is an extreme version of Batman, where he simply does not want to move on from the hurt of his parents. The indescribable hate he carries inside to bash and hurt criminals. Something similiar can be said once Bruce discovers Joker killed his parents.

1. Michael Gough.

2. There was one good moment where Freeze made a ballerina toy that displayed the tragedy of an otherwise poorly executed character in this movie.

3. Michael Gough, and the scenes he had with George Clooney as they prepare for the worst (No doubt though some immature wankers out there would call these scenes 'gay'  ::)).

4. The stunts and action overall are actually pretty good.

5. Michael Gough.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

QuoteBut how would you have utilised it in the films?

They could have called the graveyard in Batman Returns 'Arkham Cemetery'. It would have been like the scene in Batman and Robin where you see the Riddler and Two Face's costumes hanging up in the storage room. Except instead of costumes there would have been gravestones.

"Here lies Jack Napier, A1 nutball and all round A-hole." And beside him: "Robert, beloved goon."

And if Batman told a villain "I'm sending you to Arkham" they'd know they were in big trouble.

1. Funny
2. Funny
3. Funny
4. Funny
5. Oh my god, is this film funny.

(Seriously, though; I thought the idea that Batman could get to Freeze's soft side and persuade him to become an ally was only only sweet, but something that should have been integrated into the comics.)

1. uma thurman as ivy. i loved her and her manner of speaking and stuff. i will sometimes go around talking like that lol. and she was sooooo f***ing hot it makes me want to rip my clothes off and scream for her to take me as her slave. she could inject me with the toxins she gave harley and we could be lovers and rule gotham city as the ultimate bitches!

???

i said that? lol. not that its not true, just.....wow.

1) Great looking Batmobile
2) Excellent suits for Batman and Robin.
3) Excellent score
4) Great looking Mr. Freeze outfit
5) Great lighting throughout. The whole movie felt like a comic book come to life.

i still can't believe i said that...

1. Excellent Production Values

To me, this was the most expensive-looking Batman film until The Dark Knight Rises came out. Everything about this film screams expensive from the extravagant, over-the-top sets to the flashy costumes to the way the gadgets are designed. And to be honest, I really don't mind the neon look of Schumacher's Batman films. It's visually appealing, but they just belong in a completely different world than Batman.

2. The Casting of Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy

While Poison Ivy in this film was as goofy as you expected from a character with a name like that, I DO believe Thurman was the right choice and that she could've portrayed a more sinister, more devilish version of Ivy. She can pull off being sexy, seductive, manipulative, cold-blooded, and sinister all at once and if it weren't for how goofy her character was and how poor the script was, I think her performance would've gotten a lot more praise.

3. It's Very Funny(though, mostly unintentionally)

As bad as the script was for this film, I will admit that I get a kick out of watching it every time because of how funny it is. Okay, it's not intentional as I'm often laughing at how bad it is but hey, at least it made me laugh.

4. It's Very Light-Weight

This film certainly wasn't trying to be anything MORE than the sum of its parts, it was just made as a piece of fluff entertainment that was made to make a profit for Warner Bros.. While it may sound like a bad thing that the producers weren't trying to do anything more than make a profitable film(which it is), it at least doesn't RUIN the themes and ideas of the original Batman comics(which I haven't read) by trying to be anything deeper and more emotional while still having Schwarzenegger deliver constant ice-puns, Ivy constantly dropping sexual innuendos, and nipples on their Bat-suits. It had a little bit of drama with the whole "Alfred is dying" subplot but it's pretty light compared to what we got with previous/later Batman films. So at least, they didn't ruin the main drama of Batman.

5. It's Fairly Quotable

As goofy as a lot of the dialogue is in this film, a lot of it is pretty quotable, especially Mr. Freeze's ice puns. Imagine if you were in a history class and the teacher asks you "What killed the dinosaurs?", you could then say "The Ice Age!" in Arnold's voice, lol.

1. Clooney was good as Bruce Wayne and definitely had the look down
2. the smashing pumpkins song
3. the Alfred storyline was well done
4. it did give a little change of pace in the sense that Bruce Wayne's alter ego takes a back stage; it is the only film in which none of the villains find out Batman's true identity, the only character who does is barbara
5. this is something that can be brought up if Burton gets slagged for killing the villains; none of the major characters die.
