Thought I would post these here, too.

Here are my original Returns gloves:

I moved this to the memorabilia section.

What are they like to wear?

(Sorry, raleagh. I wasn't sure where you would want it. I figured the gloves might be more applicable to the movie itself than regular memorabilia.)

Unlike the later gloves, the '89 & Returns have little substrate, so they are a bit floppy.  So unless you are wearing forearm armor, which typically I am not  :) they are a bit loose, at least on me.

The hands on these are a bit stretched out, and have holes in the tips of the index fingers. You can tell they saw a lot of use in the movie, most likely by a primary stunt man like Lea.

I have the fins, too and will post pics of them as well.

As an aside, I just want to say that I love this site and the passion & participation of the members here. Especially the hard-core '89ers. Out of sheer inertia, I post first on the BOTB, but really I feel more at home here.

That's very nice of you to say.  It was Shadowbat's idea to have a forum that concentrated primarily on Burton's Bat-movies.  ;D

Somebody on ebay was selling an original Joker glove signed by Nicholson. He was looking 3 and a half grand for it!!! A bit much  :'(

How thick are they? They look to be a decent thickness there.

They are actually pretty "normal" thickness, like any of the unlined motorcycle gloves like Fieldsheer, Thunderwear, Olympia, etc. which is not that thick.

They are a little big on me, so that might add to the illusion.

If you want to see thick leather, check out the AA gloves in my sales page:

These are so cool that I wish they didn't have to be religated to the "merchandise" section. I normally hate forums with too many sections but maybe an "making of/ production/ prop" section might be appropriate.

Video Games, action figures, beach towels and the like are merchandise but production artwork and props are part of the actual building blocks of the film.

Of course what would go into the "main " forum? A tough call.

Just my 2 cents.

Nick

fair comment.

Memorabila will be for making of/ production/ prop

Merchandise for Video Games, action figures, beach towels etc  ;)

why are there no bat-flaps on them?

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.
