I'm shocked and devastated.

Kids killed too. Awful.

This is horrible.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.

Indeed Silver Nemesis.

It's difficult to know what to say at this time and juncture other than to express our support to the victims of this horrific occurence.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

What can someone say.. Horrible...

Caught the news shortly after returning home in the morning.

Absolutely horrendous.

I spoke with Jett at Batman-On-Film earlier today and we decided to take our sites offline for 12 hrs as a mark of respect to the victims of the Aurora shootings.

The site will not be accessible from 7pm central.

We are a small forum in a much larger online community. Many of us visit different sites on a regular basis. Whether we're reading or posting, we are still a part of the community.

The cinema in Aurora had many different groups of people that night. Families, friends or even fans there on their own. All have been affected, I'm sure, in different ways. As it was a midnight screening it is safe to say that there was a large amount of Batman fans in attendance. Fans who in all likelihood are members and visitors of sites like this one.

As a part of a larger community, even if we don't know those involved (or even live in the same state/country) we can't help but empathise and sympathise with them. There isn't much we can do about awful events such as what took place  in the very early hours of July 20th.

All we can do is show our support to all those there, especially those in our own larger Batman community.

I don't know if anyone who is suffering or grieving right now ever visited this site. I don't know if they ever will. I only hope that if they do our support may, perhaps in some small way, bring a little comfort.

I will be making a donation to the local chapter (Mile High) of the Red Cross on behalf of Batman-Online. If you wish to make a donation yourself you can do it here
