Listen to the entire TDKR score

One thing about the OST is that the release is a total mess. The CD is not worth buying, some of the best stuff was made available only as "bonus" tracks (and, in lossy bitrates). A look around youtube is revelatory ("No Stone Unturned" or "Risen from Darkness" in particular SHOULD be part of the original release). I hope they release a Deluxe CD like they did with TDK.

This didn't seem worth a thread by itself, esp with this one around, so here goes.

Been listening to this lately. The standout tracks for me are A Storm Is Coming, Gotham's Reckoning, Mind If I Cut In, Underground Army (imho the best on the CD) and Rise. Good tracks but, as others have said, it's like a microcosm of the film itself in that it's not anywhere close to what it could've been. Hell, my favorite tracks are front-loaded at the beginning and then the tail end... much like my preferences for the movie itself. The similarities really are staggering.

No kidding. I liked the track/compilation from that Nokia trailer and assumed I'd have to make my own version of it for my iPod but checked YouTube on a lark and found some guy was waaaaay ahead of me on that one.

It really is strange how much stuff got skipped. This could've been the strongest score from this series of films as it has the greatest number of themes and motifs going on. The potential is there; it's just waiting for someone to see it and run with it. I don't absolutely need an expanded score as (A) so much other stuff is on YouTube and it's easy to "record" and (B) I've got no real investment in this franchise to begin with.

You know, I think Zimmer did quite well on this score really.

'A Storm is Coming', 'On Thin Ice' - my favourite, 'Gotham's Reckoning' and 'Mind if I Cut in?' is my favourite sequence. All new content for TDKR.

'The Fire Rises' was new and wasn't too bad either. I did like the military like march that plays at the half way mark of 'Imagine The Fire' and 'The Shadows Betray You' motif.

'Why Do We Fall?' was good. Simple driving structure - I don't often like that - but it works very well here. It encapsulates the never say die way of Batman. The power of hard work and grit. Emerging from the darkness against all odds. I'd say its Zimmer's Batman sound at its truest intention.
