Some pretty impressive deep cuts there.

* Iceberg Lounge
* Axis Chemicals
* Shreck Towers

The actor playing the Joker was good. Leaning in to Mark Hamill with the voice a bit, but that's not a bad thing.

That reading of Batman being afraid to kill because he can't stop rings very true to me. In fact, that's the only way I can see him not killing someone. Because he wouldn't stop with just one. But I don't think he'd ever say so out loud to anyone. Least of all the Joker. Good character moment tho.

Bat in the Sun have released their latest Batman fan film titled Dying is Easy. The cast includes Casper Van Dien as Gordon, Michael Madsen as Bullock and Doug Jones (the Thin Clown in Batman Returns) as the Riddler. The production values are very impressive.

Production values are the best thing about it.
I have the upmost respect for the people who make these short movies. They've done a remarkable job in capturing the atmosphere of Batman. The actor playing the Joker wasn't to my tastes but that's not a dealbreaker. Very well done overall.

I've always thought a good opponent for Keaton's Batman in a versus battle would be the live-action Shredder from the nineties TMNT movie trilogy. Not just because they were appearing in CBMs around the same time, but because their height, weight and skill levels would make for an even matchup.

Evidently I'm not the only person who thinks this, as Bat in the Sun productions is making a Burton Batman vs. Shredder '90 film as part of their Super Power Beat Down series.

American actor and martial artist Jason Faunt has been cast as the Burton Batman. Faunt previously played the Red Ranger in several Power Rangers TV shows.

Of course this won't be the first time Batman and the Shredder have faced off against each other.

Bat in the Sun posted some lighting test shots of Jason Faunt in the batsuit. Apparently the costume was created by our own site member, Reevz666.

I hope Batman wins the first round, and then Shredder transforms into Super Shredder for round two.

I choose to take this literally. B89 Batman vs. 1990 Shredder.

It's... tough to say. On the one hand, I would never bet against B89 Batman. And yet, he had his work cut out for him against the strong man in the belfry. It is possible for him to be overwhelmed, at least for a while. He might need a moment to get his equilibrium back.

At the same time, 1990 Shredder is obviously mad, bad and dangerous to know. Not someone to be trifled with. He effortlessly took on the turtles, dropping them easily. His weakness might be his temper. Splinter knew good and well what would happen when he unmasked himself as the rat that scarred Shredder. Sure enough, Shredder got triggered, charged Splinter and... that was all she wrote (because in my continuity, there are no sequels to 1990) (except maybe the animated TMNT).

If Shredder gains the upper hand early on, he might be able to overwhelm 89 Batman. But if Batman figures out that Shredder can become emotionally compromised, he might be able exploit that weakness and then press the advantage.

So, a beat down between those two could go either way.

I think you're right on the money, colors.

Batman would be forced to use some sort of cunning strategy in facing off against the 1990 Shredder. I think had the deleted scene of the 1990 Shredder sitting down and nearly effortlessly thwarting off attacks from multiple attackers at the same time been left in the finished film, the fight between these two would make it even more of a uphill battle for Batman with facing off against Shredder.

This scenario is sorta like a Rocky III situation between Rocky and Clubber Lang. Where the hero has to exploit the weakness of the antagonist to the fullest extent, rather than attempt to go toe to toe against. The trick for Batman, is would he be able to get Shredder to have a rage filled outburst, without the knowledge of Hamato Yoshi to really set him off?

It would be an interesting fight for sure.

That's one of the best fight scenes from any nineties CMB and the strongest demonstration of the live action Shredder's prowess. The Turtles have superhuman strength, durability and agility, yet Saki dominated all four of them at once. Then he survived falling off a rooftop into a hydraulic crusher. Batman has his work cut out for him.

In The Secret of the Ooze Shredder was willing to fight both Tokka and Rahzar simultaneously. Tokka and Rahzar are even stronger than the Turtles. I'd guess their strength and durability levels are roughly comparable to those of Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy, and Shredder was confident of beating them both.

Here's how I think the fight between Batman and Shredder will play out.

Batman catches some Foot ninjas up to no good in Gotham and takes them down. The Shredder drops into shot in slow motion and delivers his "Now you face the Shredder" line. Batman and Shredder hurl throwing weapons at each other, with neither drawing blood. Shredder attacks Batman using his blades, and Batman deflects the attacks with his gauntlets and shin guards. Shredder might also use his spear, which Batman will break or dispose of. They fight to a stalemate until Shredder finds the same weak spot in Batman's armour that Catwoman exploited and stabs him in the ribs.

Wounded, Batman vanishes into the shadows. Shredder taunts him. Batman gets mad and starts deploying the more deadly weapons from his arsenal. Shredder gets pelted with bat-bombs and napalm capsules. While he's reeling from this, Batman blitzes Shredder and beats him into submission. Batman wins.

Or does he?

As he lies seemingly defeated, Shredder produces a vial of ooze and douses himself with it. Batman watches in horror as Super Shredder rises to his feet and attacks. The outcome of the second round depends on whether this is just the Batman from B89 and BR, or whether they'll include the feats and equipment of the Flashpoint Batman from The Flash. If it's just the Batman from B89 and BR, then Super Shredder rips him in two. If they're including Batman's feats from The Flash, then Bruce whips out the level-11 bombs and gives him the Nam-Ek treatment.

Really, this fight could go either way. Whoever wins should only scrape by with high difficulty. I can't wait to watch it in 2025. :D

The group of thugs that get pwned by Shredder includes Sam Rockwell and Skeet Ulrich. One went on to become an Iron Man villain, the other became Ghostface.

I wonder if that deleted scene inspired this moment from the 2014 TMNT movie.
