I like the fact they've gone for a practical effect over a digital one. It should look impressive on the big screen.

I like the practical effects as well, and I am also thankful that Nolan is giving us some more "Hyper-realistic" scenes and action that we may have not seen before in his films.

You also have to remember that Burton did alot of practical effects as well in his bat-films. That's one of the few things that Burton and Nolan, I think, have a bit in common.

Oh dear...

QuoteThe Batwing has been involved in a collision during a The Dark Knight Rises shoot.

No actors or crew members were hurt in the crash, which occurred when the vehicle hit a streetlamp during a Pittsburgh chase scene, ICv2 reports.

Sources confirm that one of the wings was torn of the aircraft, but prop technicians were on hand to repair the damage. The shot was attempted for a second time with apparant success.

The near miss marks the second on-set accident since Dark Knight Rises began filming. Earlier this month, a botched stunt sequence destroyed a valuable IMAX camera.

The Batwing's inclusion in the Christopher Nolan film was confirmed when leaked video footage showed Batman in the vehicle , giving chase to an armoured car believed to driven by Tom Hardy's Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises is due for release on July 20, 2012.

It's gonna be very interesting to see this thing in action, although Burton's Batwing will always remain a classic.

BTW, are we sure it's the batwing or the bat-copter?

I don't think it can be truly classed as either. It's a...thing.

A possible storyline spoiler may have been indicated at.

Christian Bale was photographed holding a Detective Comics issue on the set.

Interesting, though I noticed that the Batman there is Jean Paul Valley and Joker's on the cover, so I'm not sure how big of a story influence that issue could have had.  I doubt we'll see either JPV or Joker in this movie.

On the other hand, it's kinda cool to see the live action Batman carrying an issue of Batman  :)

Empire has revealed two covers- one featuring Bane and the other featuring Batman.  The upcoming issue is set to hit stores on November 24th, where the cover promises a set report as well as new official photos.

Perhaps the most surprising thing out of the pics, though, is in the Batman cover, which reveals a new gadget that looks like a huge blue flashlight.  Curious what it could be...

The Empire article has leaked early today.

There's not a ton revealed, other than official pictures and the following:
1) The prologue will introduce Bane
2) Info on Bane's mask
3) The biggest is that Nolan states that The Dark Knight Rises takes place eight years after The Dark Knight.   ???

8 years?  Are we seriously skipping/fastforwarding through 8 years of the Batman's career after the cliffhanger-type ending of The Dark Knight?  Have the police failed to catch him all this time?  And is part of that gap due to Bane possibly injuring him, like in Knightfall?  I'm curious about the reasoning behind this.
