Sometimes it easy to forget Batman, er...I mean Michael Keaton, did other films - so this thread is dedicated those films.

Beetlejuice is a classic, loved by all, and Michael gives one hell of a performance - infact one I have not seen him give since. As different from his Batman performance as Beetlejuice was is another film - My Life.

My Life to me is a remarkably tragic story with very ordinary, but honestly open, performances.  For those who haven't seen it - I thoroughly recommend you do so.  I dare you not to cry while watching Michael on his death bed talking to his father - a truly powerful, simple and open scene.  It doesn't go for any of the false sentimentality we usually see in Hollywood movies.

It is a film we can all relate to, whether we know someone who has died or not.  Oh and John Barry gives a typically emotive score.

My grade: A-

As Keaton is my favorite actor. I'll do my top ten list excluding the batman films

1. Clean and Sober

2. Beetlejuice

3. The company

4. Jackie Brown

5. Night Shift

6. Gung Ho

7. Johnny Dangerously

8.  Multiplicity

9. The Paper

10. Desperate Measures

I was introduced to Keaton thru Mr. Mom. ;D My grandma loved that movie and its a part of my movie collection. Another movie where I absolutely love Keaton is The Dream Team, another part of my collection.

My other Keaton picks are:
Night Shift
Beetlejuice
Multiplicity
Gung Ho

Ive seen My Life, its part of my wifes movie collection, but I refuse to watch it. Its too sad.  ???

I own The Paper on DVD. It has witty and funny dialogue and is pretty emotional towards the end.
The script is great as it handles many characters interacting by talking over one another superbly.

Have you seen My Life?

Yes. Not one of my faves though.

Mr. Mom is always cute.

Aside from Batman my other favorites are:

Pacific Heights

One Good Cop
Desperate Measures

I still haven't seen desperate measures - it has been on my to do list for years!

I am on holiday for the next two weeks, so apart from putting a lot of stuff on this site I will be doing a keaton marathon.  8)
