I think today May 6th, is when filming starts for The Dark Knight Rises in India, it's only supposed to last a few days. After that I think they then move back to the US for the major photography. I personally wish them all the best, be safe and give us the best movie possible.

Nicely said.

Has anyone seen the supposed leaked photo from the shoot?

I think I know the pics your talking about

The Lazorus Pit ones
^^Spoilers^^

^ It surely looks like one of those.

I'm having a hard time thinking how Nolan could explain that with his realism restrictions.

I guess Nolan realises that with Bane and Ra's Al Ghul, there has to be something just outside the bounds of reality. I hope it could either be the lazarus pit or the venom that Bane uses, we'll wait and see what it really is and how Nolan tackles it.

I'm not sold on the idea. Another example of Nolan's supposed "comic purity". Anyway...

My guess is that it'll have the strength building aspect, but not the immortality, obviously. Ras would've known about it to tell Bane, so he could've used it at some stage as well. It doesn't make the pit totally Bane centric. Now, I don't consider the Nolan Ras immortal, but I wouldn't say this totally rules it out either. Who is to say he isn't immortal by some other means we aren't told? Ras is a mysterious guy.

I think Bane is now a rogue, as Ras trained him at a young age. The venom probably made him a beast mentally and physically, and he was locked up. I'm thinking the pit contents are chemical based, and not naturally occurring. Makes more sense, in realism terms. A certain formula for it isn't mystical. If they want to show Bane's smarts, he could minimise the pit into a quick hit to use out and about, and possibly perfect it further. Similar to Scarecrow, but that's the nature of the Nolanverse.

Alright, this information changes things.

I wonder if the pit is used by a few characters?

QuoteIncidentally, a green screen was created just outside the Fort. Nolan shot in front of the green screen and used the Fort as the backdrop. Sources say that this backdrop of the Fort has been used to establish that Batman is in an exotic location which is isolated too. However, this backdrop isn't meant to be shown as India in the film. Back in the UK studios, this 30 ft x 30 ft green screen will be digitally modified to create the Lazarus Pit. For those not in the loop, a Lazarus Pit is used by Ra's Al Ghul for gaining restorative powers. Scenes of Bale being carried into the pit and then jumping out of it were also canned.

Does canned mean "dropped"? Or "in the can"as in filmed?

I gather the latter.
