FIRECRACKER NOT BOMB?

Whether or not Burton's Batman kills, isn't it funny how his worst enemies all end up conveniently dead?  I still refuse to believe, to this day, that Penguin is really dead.  He simply can't be.  Look at the comics, there are so many times when someone makes a miraculous recovery, or staged a phony death.  Or perhaps it's my wishful thinking.  Whatever.
The hopeful future Mrs. Cobblepot?

In the films anyway.

Well, in Batman Returns, he is.

Yeah, in the comics. They need the classic villains to re-occur for future stories. With films, it's a totally different ball game.

It is.

It ould be intreging to think that the penguin survived - we don't get the closure from any public officials like at the end of B89 - however I doubt Batman would leave his fate to chance.

However we are never told if he dies - though it does strongly imply (internal bleeding, drowning, funeral by penguin brigade) his death - but he could be in Arkham!

We don't need to be told.

Yep. The scenario spells it out loud and clear.

I highly doubt Arkham Asylum exists in Burton's universe.

TDK...not a fan of wishful thinking then  ;D

Yes, death is VERY strongly implied.  And he'd have needed medical attention, that's for sure.  I just couldn't help but notice that he came up out of toxic waste and then his motionless (lifeless?) body was pushed into relatively clear water.

I'm actually writing a fanfic that hinges on this singular event.  Pre-Returns, between-the-scenes of Returns, and aftermath, epilogue, what-have-you.

Not in this instance.

The Penguin literally dropped dead.

can't wait to read that. even though it'll probably be better than mine. :(

Sweet, you write?  Where can I check out your work?  I'd love to see it.  Mine's on www.deviantart.com.  The story is titled A Nest To Roost In.  Up to seven chapters now, working on Chapter 8 in between writing for school and working on my (for real) novel, which I'll probably spend the next 20 years shopping around to publishers and getting my heart broken.

the fan fic section on here has some examples but once ral implements the big fanfic section for the site, i'm planning on going all out. it'll be like a batman 5, so there will be elements from burtons movies and schumachers.

and to the rest of you, i'm even going to use capitalization this time! lol
