What would you like to see in a Spiderman reboot?

I don't want to be the one to dance on the grave of the Raimi Spiderman series, especially since I'm somebody who genuinely believes that his films rank amongst the best comic -book movies of all time, and alongside my favourite films of the last decade.  However, it doesn't seem likely Raimi's going to return, and it's probably best that us fans start to move in.

In which case, what would you like to see in a new Spiderman franchise, including the stuff you wish had or hadn't featured as part of Raimi's series.  I've got my own ideas which I'll share later, but anyone else any ideas?
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

No organic webshooters - i love that Peter invented his own.

Gwen first.

Apart from that - Raimi nailed most things.

Agreed. My only true issue is that Rami stole GG's victory by putting MJ on that bridge instead of Gwen.

Villains to have story arcs or motives that DO NOT make them slightly sympathetic. I want some villians that are just all around cold hearted bad guys.

A more wise cracking Spider-Man during battles.

Green Goblin's costume (whenever he eventually shows up) to actually be competent this go around. Less power ranger, and more creepy. I'll greatly miss Dafoe. He was a great.

Peter not being completely lovestruck by Mary Jane right off the bat. Gwen certainly deserves a good movie arc this go around.

Villains we have not seen before. Take the Batman Begins route, and give us The Lizard, or Electro as Spidey's adversary for his first film. Though a lot of determining a lead villain will depend on theme. Norman Osborn can be developed as a supporting character, with his Green Goblin persona introduced in a later sequel. My personal favourite is Doc Ock, but he's another that needs to be saved for later.

And no dark and grittiness for Spider-Man. That's the farthest thing from Spidey. Same goes for any proposed Superman reboot in the future as well.

That's a superhero movie trend I'm kinda sick of as well.  Some people are just evil.  No sympathy, no justifcation, they're just nasty.

Agreed.  We didn't see that as much as I would've liked in the Raimi films.  I'd always hoped he'd rectify it in Spider-Man 4.

It's a tricky costume.  The mask has to be expressive.  CG/mo-cap might be the way to go.  Make a distorted version of the actor's face, use that as the mask and then he peels that off later on to be Norman.  I dunno.  The comics outfit might look a little weird on camera as well.  Green "skin" and purple clothes.

I'm not crazy about the Ultimate GG though.  That's definitely a last resort.

This was one of my complaints when the first movie came out - but i put it down it him not being confident as Spider-man.  I guess the movies made me forget that aspect of the character.

So yeah...I want that too!

i would just like to see it lol. i've never seen any of the spiderman movies. toby maguire gets on my LAST nerve.

I'm a huge fan of the 90's Spider-Man cartoon. I loved how they used the Kingpin character. It would be great to see him in the film pulling the strings of some villains, but not have Spidey fight him until a later sequel.

Unfortunately, Fox has the character as part of the Daredevil rights. I don't know what the actual contract is but I doubt the rights expire anytime soon. Apparently, Tombstone serves as a substitute for Kingpin in the current cartoon. I suppose they could do that as well but it wouldn't be the same.

While I'm on the topic of villains there's a 1000% chance of not showing up because of Fox, I'll throw in Dr. Doom as well.  ;D

They are re-booting F4 aswell, so Doom may have a bigger role.

I am a huge fan of the Nicholas Hammond Spider-man series  - there are some great things in that show and it's a damn shame they don't re-release it...

...and give Hammond a cameo in one of the movies.
