An Interesting Written "Commentary" For The Film

I always enjoy different perspectives of these films and this one was no exception. I agreed and I disagreed! They also covered the other films, which I will read another day.

In my opinion, these guys were pretty dead-on in their Smallville reviews.

Their commentary on the Batman films, though, has been...surprising for me so far. 

For such evident comic fans, neither seemed to recognize a lot of the comic influences that Silver Nemesis and I recognized in the Burton films and instead, state that Burton's version of Batman barely resembles the character.  Here, I see the usual complaints about Batman killing and Catwoman having a weird origin with the fall, but there's no acknowledgment that both of these actually happened in the comics.  Now, I understand if that's not the preferred interpretation (I admit, it's not mine, either), but I take issue with people citing irreverence or contradiction to the comics when there are actually similarities between the movies and the comics.
Chris Sims, one of the reviewers here, is supposedly Comics Alliance's Batman expert and he's produced many articles on the comic book Batman that I agree with and enjoy reading, but I'd say our very own Silver Nemesis wins the title of Batman expert in my book.

They pretty much rip into those two as much as they did with the 1989 film.

And then they find that Batman & Robin is the "best of the four films" for very interesting reasons.

Next up are Catwoman and the Nolan Batman films (which I hope don't end up getting turned into love fests since I feel like Begins and Dark Knight slip into some of the same plot and character problems that these guys have criticized the previous films for).

It may be 'an interestingly written commentary', but to be frank, these guys are idiots.  Judging by their preferment for Batman & Robin over Burton's Batman movies, their favourite Batman-era is the camp 1950/60s 'Bat-mite' period.  Am I the only one fed-up by this ridiculous revisionism that places Burton's Batman-films on the same peg as Schumacher's (apparently it would seem, as a means of elevating Nolan's Batman films even further)?
