I love the Iron Giant and thought I would share this link with anyone else here who happens to love the Big Guy too! It's a lot of what is in this person's collection, but if you love this movie as much as I do or as much as this guy does, then I think you'll like this site.

The movie is certainly a classic. Especially the boy's name, Hogarth.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen The Iron Giant

Neither have I, though I'm not ashamed.

Good lord guys, what are you waiting for?!?!

I implore you both to watch it ASAP.  It's directed by Brad Bird, the same man that brought you The Incredibles and Ratatouille.  You won't feel you've wasted your time a bit.  Trust me.

My only regret is not seeing it in the theater when I had a chance.  I bought it on VHS, knowing full well that I was going to love it.  And it turns out I did.  It's the perfect kids film, that is great for adults.

I rank The Iron Giant as one of the best animated movies ever, there was just an honesty about it and a feel good film in general. This is one movie that I think should not be converted to live action, I just don't think a live action version can capture the spirit that the animated movie did. Anyway, anyone who has not seen it needs to, just either rent it, buy it if you can get it cheap or search tvguide for any showtimes it may have. It's one of the few animaed movies I'll call great.

Interesting.

I might check it out some time.

I saw it with my mom in theaters way back when, I really hope they make a sequel to it.

I haven't seen it, but I don't hope they make a sequel. More often than not, a sequel to a successful film just tarnishes the original.

Gotta agree with The Dark Knight on this one.  I'm really thankful Warner Bros. never authorized a direct-to-video movie or some goofy series of tapes that Disney/Pixar put Toy Story through.  Toy Story 2 was perfectly alright with me.  In fact, I like it better than the original.  I just wasn't OK with the Buzz Lightyear cartoon or all the other little videos the company put out to cash in on their new found cash cow.

The Iron Giant was a box office disappointment.  In fact, if I remember reading it correctly, the movie lost money for WB, but thankfully found it's audience in VHS tape rental and sales.  This movie is like The Goonies.  It's perfect the way it is, and you pray to God above, they leave it alone and never attempt a sequel.  Are you listening to me Cory Feldman?
