Jack truly is proud of his performance, I have seen past interviews with him and whenever The Joker comes up there is always this great smile on his face. On the SE Batman dvd he really cherishes this role and said himself that out of all the other characters he has played he probably took this one most seriously.  In relation to Prince, they really are some memorable songs and the funky and industrial beats fits The Joker so well just as we saw in the movie with "PARTYMAN" and "TRUST".  In fact I never owned the Prince soundtrack but now I want it more than ever. It would be the only movie soundtrack I own along with Armageddon (score). And for those who don't have it yet, it's quite cheap on amazon, around 6 bucks.

I am surprised to read that some of you never owned this record.  I figured it would have been an easy piece to add to your collection just because it played such a large role in the summer of Batman 1989.

So then call me a collector because I have Prince's Batdance, lets see here:
1. CD
2. Collector CD (This came in a Tin Can)
3. BMG CD - no UPC - just a BMG industry label (I stick this in the long CD box that CDs used to come in. Some kid came in a store I was working at the time and was looking to sell it.  I gave him like five bucks I believe just for the box.  Sadly though it's beginning to show it's age as I moved last year and something shifted in the box and it got banged up a little.  Still, it's fun to have.)
4. Cassette.
5. LP, 12 inch, Record - whatever you want to call it.

That's why I am interested in this $6 version that has been recently released just to see if there is any new art work, stickers, whatever.  If I read it correctly, Rhino Records was behind this release (I could be mistaken) so yeah even if a Rhino Records image is printed on this new $6 version, I would pick it up just to have.

The downside to all of this though is that I only have the cassette and CD single to Batdance.  A couple of months ago, I complied a list for my own personal special edition of this CD where I would take all the singles and the B-sides put them on a 2 (more likely 3) CD set.  The List looks like this (aside from the studio release):

1. Batdance (Edit) 4:06
2. 200 Ballons 5:05
3. Batdance (Album) 6:13
4. Batdance (The Batmix) 7:15
5. Batdance (Vicky Vale Mix) 5:55
6. Batdance (The Batmix Edit) 4:09
7. Batdance (Vicky Vale Mix Edit) 4:13
8. Batdance (The Batmix Radio Edit) 4:09*
9. Batdance (Vicky Vale Mix Radio Edit) 4:13*

*I think these are the same as The Batmix Edit and Vick Vale Mix Edit. Still waiting for a conformation on this.

(2) PARTYMAN

1. Partyman 3:11
2. Feel U Up (Short Stroke) 3:44
3. Partyman (The Purple Party Mix) 6:02
4. Partyman (Partyman Music Mix) 4:31
5. Partyman (The Video Mix) 6:20
6. Feel U Up (Long Stroke) 6:28
7. Partyman (The Video Mix Edit) 5:40

(5) THE FUTURE

1. The Future (Remix Edit) 3:30
2. Electric Chair (Album) 4:13
3. The Future (Remix) 6:25
4. Electric Chair (Remix) 5:36

(6) TRUST

1. Trust (Album) 4:23

(7) UNRELEASED/MISC.

1. Dance With The Devil 7:54 (This was the song Prince took off the album at the last minute and repleaced it with Batdance.)
2. Batdance 8:55 (A longer remix with delted scene dialouge mixed in it)
3. Rave Un 2 The Joy Fantastic
4. Still Would Stand All Time
The last two songs appear on his other works, but were going to be used on the Batman album before they got rejected and replaced with other tunes.

As of now I only have a couple of the tunes and look forward to putting this little project together.  If anyone wants to help or whatever, please feel free to contact me.

And one last thing, check this video out:

Just a little something, something, ya know?!

The Prince stuff was okay I guess. If Burton had full control, I highly doubt he would have used it.
