Jack Nicholson, in my opinion, looked dead-on like Dick Sprang's Joker from those covers, partially due to the latex makeup that gave him the permanent smile.

I totally agree with you, im pretty sure that was a main influence on their Joker, I mean seriously it looks pretty similar.

I found one more. This one IMO looks kinda like Jack's Joker when he would cover his face with flesh-toned make-up:
