Bruce is traumatised about not being able to save Selina but why doesn't he feel the same way, if not worse, about failing to save the Ice Princess?  Unlike Selina, the Princess didn't kill herself.

Also, Chip seems too much of a bully-boy brainless thug to be committed to a mental institute.  I can see him becoming a sociopathic murderer who stalks women, mainly prostitutes, like Patrick Bateman from 'American Psycho', to take out his anger against Catwoman for murdering his old man.

because it was the ice princess' own incomprehensible stupidity that got her killed. with the least bit of brainpower she could have saved herself. not much he could have done. and unlike you he didn't have this sick obsession with her.

Catwoman, there's no need to insult Johnny like that. Please be respectful around here.

Thanks mrrockey.  :)

Don't worry about Catwoman though.  She's a good poster.  I don't want you to fall out on my behalf.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

without dear ol dad around, chip seems to me he would have fallen apart. he might have lashed out violently or something and would have wound up locked up in arkham or something.

Chip would have collected his birth right depending on how much the stock was worth, sadly for him the powerplant deal didn't go through.

The simple fact is that plenty of innocents died throughout the series; off the top of my head, the one the joker stabs with the pen, the ice princess, the flying graysons etc. Bruce is a twisted guy; he feels more bad about Dick witnessing his parents deaths and failing to save them than he does for the deceased. And the point is that Bruce has an emotional attachment to Selina that he never had for the princess. Also selina put herself in harms way partially because of Bruce.

Thanks for your answers Riddler.  :)

I like your idea about Chip trying to claim his birthright.  I wonder if he tried to push the powerplant through.  He wasn't too smart but he must have been able to work with his father's associates to push through the plant.  He could have used his father's death as a basis to arouse public sympathy and stand for mayor, or pull the strings of another candidate.

Why do you think Bruce felt more sympathy for Selina and Dick than others?

he probably saw some of himself in both of them.

Hey guys it's me again & i thought i'd drop in & ask a question on the subject about BF being a direct sequel to BR.
If they did bring back catwoman in BF how do you think she'd act towards dick when bruce adopts him?Would she be motherly towards him?Would she helping dick cope with the anger of loosing his parents to two-face?Or would she encourage bruce along with alfred in letting dick become his ward?
You ether die a trilogy or live long enough to see yourself become batman & robin

Bruce has feelings for Selina, that's why he feels the extra  need to save her. Dck goes through the same thing Bruce did; parents killed right in front of him and knows he will blame himself.

So yes in summation what Catwoman said is right and it's interesting that his interest in both get elaborated in the next films; Chase asking bruce if she needs a skin tight suit and a whip; Selina also believes in vigilante justice but with a more reckless approach. As alfred indicates to Bruce, Dick is following a similar path but through his own way.

Selina and Dick both start out believing in vigilante justice and both make their first prey the one who killed a part of them. I don't Bruce wants anyone else to have that life, he just has trouble giving it up. Also worthy to note that Selina and Dick are the two closest people to get him to give up crime fighting.

It's hard to picture what happens in the aftermath since apparently nobody goes into the sewers in this film. I'd imagine eventually Shrecks body would be found in a search.
