Burton's future films

Burton is indeed busy lately, he's doing Frankenweenie, producing abe lincoln Vampire Hunter, directing Dark Shadows, maybe directing Hunchback of notre dame, and even Monsterpocalypse over at Dreamworks.

Looking forward to these films from my favourite director. I was even thinking that the Hunchback especially, once the script is great and the casting is right, with the story Burton, once he directs, can maybe get that long awaited Oscar nomination for best director. I know he can nail it.

As much as I like the Hunchback story, I seriously doubt he would even be nominated for directing it ( if he does make the film anyway). The only real chance he has is if he does another Big Fish or Ed Woodkind of film, and even then, neither of those films earned him an Oscar nom. He might end up like Hitchcock and receive a life achievement award, or be snubbed by the academy until he dies.

This is why I hate the Oscars. >:(
Why is there always someone who bring eggs and tomatoes to a speech?

I hope his next films are so good that offer retribution for the great eldritch travesty of a certain - artistic but sadly not financial - disaster released in 2010. Dark Shadows promises to be Burton is Sleepy Hollow mode, so I'm excited about that. Frankenweenie too, the animated Corpse Bride was his best film by far since 2003's Big Fish. He's been a favourite of mine since I was a child and started liking movies, and I have to say I was almost *sad* about the crap he made in the latter half of the previous decade. I wish his upcoming stuff shows he's finally back on track.

Oh, and who cares about that statue that looks like C3PO?  :) Even Stanley Kubrick never won one as a director, and Burton's films aren't much of an Oscar bait
