Who digs this 2 parter? i do and such quality from TMS animation they never disappoint as they were kings of TV animation. Ron Perlman was nicely cast as Clayface/Matt Haggen and i was psyched to finally see Clayface appear on the show as i always thought he was a fantastic villain. Ed Asner was terrific as well.

One of my faves now. I was about to start a new post on the subject of Clayface. How different was his animated Bruce Timm counterpart from his comic book self? I heard they made changes but I'm not familar with many Clayface stories. I bought "The Mud Pack" earlier this year but have yet to read it.

It can be argued he is a tad rip off of Marvel's Spider-Man villain Sandman. With all the morphing effects and so forth. Still there are amazing fight scenes and I hope all this unique action was in the books too. Timm and his team were as much inspired by action movies and not just superhero material so no doubt the then currently released Terminator 2 morphing effects had an influence on them. The scene were Clayface cannot control his transformations at the end reminded me a lot of the T-1000 melting away in the lava pit and morphing briefly back into his previous "selves".

Oh yes i knew they were inspired by Terminator 2.
