I liked the Mortal Kombat web-series, as well as the Punisher 10min short with Thomas Jane. Maybe this format is best for telling concise stories that feel like comic book issues come to life, without needing to pay attention to many of the tropes necessary for feature-length films? To say it differently, spare the exposition and skip to the chase. Wish them luck.
